I know it's possible to shrink them but you normally can't get rid of fat cells.
Does anyone know of anything that can actually destroy/get rid of fat cells? or is that just not possible?
No I am not asking for something that just helps me burn more calories.
I was just wondering if this is possible and if so, how. Thanks in advance.

Shrinking fat cells vs destroying them...

dont quote me, but im pretty sure that varies from person to person, w/ the majority containing a "set" amount of fat cells
cutting would usually decrease diameter, rather than 'destroying' fat cells
i took a class that touched on this last spring, but cant remember the exact info.. hopefully someone w/ more education in this area can help
edit: misread you first line.. i guess this is the only important part of my post:
im pretty sure that varies from person to person, w/ the majority containing a "set" amount of fat cells
so basically very unhelpful, sry.. hopefully someone can chime in

Yep. Liposuction sucks them out, obviously, that is the only way.
I have an step-aunt who got liposuction on her stomach, and the plastic surgeon told her that it is near impossible for your body to regenerate the fat cell sucked out. She then proceeded to eat like her normal fat self, thinking that meant she could gain no fat. Dumbas$ didn't realize your body stores fat other places then your stomach. All that fat that would have gone to the stomach, is now in her thighs...... You should see the size of her thighs now, she looks ridiculous.Blessed be the lord, my rock, Who trains my hands for war, And my fingers for battle. Psalm 144:1

there is a new technique out called zeltique, and it supposedly freezes white fat cells and activates brown fat into releasing more fatty acids into the bloodstream... anyhow it takes upto 3 months for the body to fully metabolise the dead fat cells.. there is some pretty compelling info out there about this and the FDA is said to be considering approval for non surgical liposuction.. at any rate the pretty funny thing is that its a tool that acts kinda like a suction freezer. it sucks up the fat and freezes it for 1 hr. it causes very little discomfort and get this.. its got like 100% approval rating from the people who had the procedure ...
yesterday in the fatloss section i postulated about trying my own home experiment with gel packs or ice packs.. i would be willing to do a small home experiment with before and after pics of my fat ass love handles.. they say with in 3 months time the layer of fat that gets treated will lose and average of 20% of its thickness. not sure if it can be repeated to come up with a cumulitive effect but the makers of the zeltiq tool say it will eventually be in every home. so i figure why not try it for free ... freeze my fat FTW! LOL

LOL, you'd have to keep it cold for a long time, like hours.
“It chills the fat to about 5 degrees Centigrade. This is enough to cause frozen crystalline formation within the fat cells,” Zachary said. “Keep them like this for 30-60 minutes and this induces ‘programmed cell death’ a gradual process whereby the fat cells just quietly disappear.”Blessed be the lord, my rock, Who trains my hands for war, And my fingers for battle. to touch on this further, what is actually the consequence of having greater amount of fat cells.
Say i was at a normal body weight and decided to become a pig and got up to 30 % bf. Now my body has a greater number of fat cells, but what are the implications of that after i return to my normal weight?4k+ my friends call me Ras
Being strong and fat is like being skinny with abs. Neither of them count

Leptin injections into your brain. Bet you can't wait to jump on board to try and see if it works as well on humans as rodents. There are a number of things that work in in vitro studies and with little critters like CLA and gugguls, but working with humans is another matter.
It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.

I think you can destroy fat cells by spot injecting GH but i don't recommend it...i don't promote the use of steroids or GH but I believe this to be true...You can reduce the size of fat cells and liposuction would also get get rid of them as well...but then again who wants the fat sucked out of us...it's sick...plus if you gain weight back it would be in places w/fat cells...so if you gain 20lbs of fat it might be hanging off your knees rather then your stomach...good luck! personally i say just watch your diet and excercise.....you can still get ripped if you reduce the size of these cells with your diet alone....you can do this without fat burners as well...i don't know why you are looking to eliminate them completely...

You have as many fat cells right now as you will when you die (if your done growing..). Fat cells are like water balloons. You put too much water in it, it will get bigger. Take some out, it will get smaller. (put in more cals/fat, get bigger. burn cals/fat, it will get smaller). If you put on 200lbs and lard, you will still have the same amount of fat cells. When you loose weight your shrinking the size of these cells, not actually 'burning them off'. There is no way to actually get rid of fat cells, although with liposuction the cells are physically being taken from your body, so that would be the only way.
