I thought I'd aware you on something that is verrrrry popular in France, but nobody seems to know it in the US. So here it is:

Olivier Lafay is a french athlete and nutritionist. After trying out different methods on several persons, he wrote a book called ' the Lafay method ' (La méthode Lafay in french).

The Lafay method is a very detailled book in which there are several exersises that don't require any weight. It's a full-body workout method using only the bodyweight. And it's been proven to work very efficiently. As a matter of fact, I started lifting, and one of my friends started the method at around the same time. And the results he's having are absolutely amazing. Here is a link with some body-transformations :
    http://methode.lafay.free.fr/index.php?Temoignages.
It's in french, but you can simply look at the pictures. Some of them are amazing.
They don't end up being skinny *******s, a lot of them actually put on serious mass.

So how does the book work? Depending on your fitness level and your goals, the book tells you what exercise you have to do. There is a total of 13 levels (verrrrry few people can clear the 13th level). Usually non-lifters start at level 2 (or 1 if they're reallly out of shape). Once you're able to do it, you clear the level and go on to the next level. The method includes some stretching and makes most Lafayens (that's how they're called in french) very flexible.

Lafay has a blog in which he sometimes gives the Lafayens a few challenges such as the TNT challenges: the practitionners had to as many dips as they could within 10 minutes. The winner actually did 273 dips. Here's the video: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xdu..._sport?fbc=302. As you can see the guy is lean and has serious mass. Most practionners actually have awesome physiques, and their strength often carries over to weightlifting. It can be a good thing when you can't actually go to a gym, or if you want to try something new.
