So I'm a pretty skinny guy on scale but just looking at myself I got some body fat I know that I should gain muscle to even it out so that's what I'm gonna do I'm gonna eat at a surplus without cardio but to get my macros and calories should I count calories and stuff because it's so hard for me to do all that can't I just eat healthy snacks without counting?

It's worth doing it. Once you have done it for a while, you get a feel for it and can reduce the process to educated guessing.
I put foods I commonly eat on a spreadsheet. All I have to do is put in quantites (e.g. 2 slices of bread, 1 portion of cheese = a cheese sandwich). The sheet adds up total calories, total protein, shows calories remaining and protein remaining.

I am counting right now. I had a break for 2 years. Started counting my normal days and Damn I was low on protein. Counting every now and again is great to keep you in check.
Alan Aragon, Brad Schoenfeld, Stu Phillips, Lyle McDonald. FTW.
Not a physique competitor but hope to compete in powerlifting next year. Max bench 1RM with pause 160kg. 352lbs.
Lift and learn.
