So I am wondering if I am the only frustrated lifter that cannot supplement protein. For some reason, I cannot take ANY protein powders. Within 20 mins, my stomach is bubbling, and even into the next day, things are not "normal".
I am lactose intolerant, so since whey is derived from dairy products, it's a no-go. What is frustrating is that I have tried whey protein isolate (that GNC swore would be fine), same issue. I tried soy protein, egg white protein, and same upset stomach with them all. I have tried Muscle Milk which is supposed to be lactose free, but it is no better. I have to get all of my protein from food sources, so it's tough to get 200+ grams, so I REALLY WISH I could supplement with a shake here or there.
Has anyone else had this issue? I even tried Carnivore brand protein that is supposed to be from beef, and still same issue. I can eat beef, chicken, eggs, etc without a problem, but when it comes to supplementing protein, its a bad situation! I feel like I may have a problem digesting the protein, but don't know of any other way to get my protein besides the food source.

Well, just ordered some brown rice protein from bb.com tonight! I would be SOOOO happy if I could get another 20-40g of protein via shakes in my day!
With bb.com's rediculously fast shipping, I'm sure I'll be able to update everyone on how it is by the weekend!
Thanks for the suggestion, never knew it even existed.

I know someone makes a powdered beef protein called carnivore. Probably taste terrible thought, although probably not much worse than rice protein or w.e.

There's a chocolate brand out there - my pop uses it, says it tastes good.
I haven't been able to supplement any sort of whey powdered protein in almost a year... year and a half now. I suddenly came down with some huge stomach issues and my body could not digest it. lets see...you have choices..or rather options you can try..
egg white protein try it again with the following...
bromelain, protease, amylase, lipase, cellulase, ect ect (digestive enzymes)
probiotics (healthy bacteria found in yogurt or supplements)
prebiotics (FOS, inulin ect)
lactase (breaks down lactose ie milk sugar)
theres also a few lactose free wheys running around although I'm not a big fan of the ion-exchange filtration process as it denatures the protein (takes out naturally occuring growth factors and immune enhancing goodies)

EDIT: theres also always free form aminosSponsored MAN Nolvadren XT Log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=148109363

I have only tried the plain stuff (Source Naturals). Biochem has a decent looking vegetarian protein blend, though I haven't tried it.
