    PS3: 160GB vs 320GB does it make a big diffference?

    I'm getting a PS3 for Christmas but I'm not sure what version I want.

    I want something with a lot of memory so I won't have to worry about filling my damn hard drive up (for instance, my launch version Xbox is filled up and I have to delete sh!t every time I get a new game). At the same time I noticed the 160GB version has a lot better bundles and stuff so I get more things with my system.

    So I feel like it's

    320GB=insane amount of memory

    160GB=better bundles and more bang for buck

    Can anyone help? The LAST thing I want is to have a PS3 that's memory is easy to fill up.

    Unless you're planning to put a ton of movies and music on your PS3 there's absolutely no way you're going to fill up 160 GB through normal use. I would buy the 160 GB keeping in mind it's very easy to upgrade the harddrive there and you can always add additional memory in the future if you find that 160 GB is not enough

    Is upgrading your hard drive anything like upgrading for the 360. I know for the 360 it requires the whole fcking deal of transferring licenses for your dlc and all that complicated crap.

    What I would do is pull the harddrive out and connect it to your computer and create an exact snapshot image of it using a program like Acronis True Image and then clone that image over to the new bigger harddrive. That way everything will look exactly the way it was on the old drive, except now you'll have a large additional amount of space. Haven't done it myself though, should work fine though

    Like someone said, if you intend on putting a lot of movies on it, get the 320gb.
    I didnt know the PS3 could read so many movies format and how easy it is to transfer from PC to Console, so I got a 160gb. The blue ray rips sure takes a lot of space

    If you have a decent level of computer knowledge and a working computer you use, there is no reason to ever fill up more than 100gb of space on the PS3.

    Set up media streaming so that all music or movies just stream from your computer.

    Only thing you use for space is downloaded games, installed games, or ps3 updates / extras (Home, Netflix, etc.)

    160gb should be more than enough, plus, like everyone said, the hard drives are easy to swap if you really blow through space.
