hmmm... hard to say wether it's worth the $$$
well it's a great peated Scotch. I would have to say the best from the somewhat affordable and available ones IMO. Typical recognizable Bruichladdich's "creamy finesse and green apple" style and taste combined with the largest amount of peat of any spirit, ever. But this peat is not rude and smelly like Laphroaig (which I also really like), but rather a polite fine peat. Good complexity as well. Clean. No drawbacks.
I had two bottles of the standard 06.1 release. First one was amazing with heavy prune note, and thick like heavy cream. Second one was more flat and thin, but still great, and it got better after I let it sit in my bar for a few weeks.
Would I buy another bottle? I'm not sure. Probably not, since there are 3 other similar Scotches available that are less money and still awesome: Ardbeg Corryvreckan $100, Lagavulin 12 Cask Strength $100, and Laphroaig Cask Strength 10 ($65). But I definitely do not regret buying Octomore twice. Like i said, objectively if you did a side by side test, you'd have to give it to Octomore.

I finally tried the Ardbeg Uigeadail on the weekend, and i gotta say its my new favorite. im not sure if i'd already had too much by that point, but if memory serves, it was even peatier than Talisker/Laphroaig/Lagavulin, with a little less spice (maybe, cant exactly remember)

Picked up these when the local grocery store had buy any 6 bottles of liquor or wine and get 30% off entire order. Threw in a Glenfiddich 12 for my brother in law's Christmas gift as well as a few bottles of wine."How many a man has thrown up his hands at a time when a little more effort, a little more patience would have achieved success?"

Not a scotch, but I recently had the Redbreast 12 (Irish whiskey) at an Irish Pub in Seattle for a Seahawk game and it was easily one of the best whiskey's I've ever had in my life. I now see why it's always out of stock at liquor stores!
I had it with a Reuben sandwich, a Guinness and a water back. hhnnnnggg meal"I don't mean to sound bitter, cold, or cruel, but I am, so that's how it comes out."

As expected: Great stuff.
Milky/creamy/soft (surprising), sherry influence (also surprising), and lots of smoke (not surprising given that it's the smokiest Ardbeg they make, but I was expecting even more smoke). With this whisky, much like with Octomore, you're expecting a peat monster, but you actually get a very soft creamy gentle elegant whisky. But of course it also has full body and lots of power.
Side by side comparison with Ardbeg 10? 10 is light body, Supernova is full. 10 has a white grape note, Supernova is more sherry/red fruits. I like both equally.
Sipped some Octomore and Laphroaig Cask Strength 10 as well for comparison. Peat smoke lovers' dream. Good times

I'll have to check this out. I love me a smokey scotch and the sherry/red fruit finish sounds nice.Tolerance and apathy are the last virtues of a dying society. ~ Aristotle
