by seasoning, I'm sure it includes salt and probably some kind of nitrate/phosphate mixture... I'm sure they are perfectly fine in that case.
The only thing you would be worried about is long term freezer burn, but hey, if you eat enough chicken...
Things are often good to buy in bulk, but not if you don't eat it fast enough, most food will spoil including grains/nuts/etc unless chemicals were added to them.
that being said .40 cents for chicken legs isn't that great of a deal. It's the least expensive part of the chicken unless you were to buy gizzards/livers/feet. Now if you got chicken breast or even a good quality whole chickens for .40 cents apound, another story. But processed chicken legs ? not so much.
The best deal this time of year for meat is w/o a doubt hams or turkeys.
family packs of leg quarters/drum sticks often run in the .79-.99 cents a pound for fresh anyway, or if its before memorial/labor day, big weekend in the .49.-.59 cents range.
personally I wouldn't eat that boxed kind chicken esp stuff close to spoilage, I like fresh cuts of chicken, never frozen.Last edited by grapemaster; 12-10-2010 at 03:02 PM.
