I just need some kind of clarification on this, as the title says will taking Jack3d or any other preworkout with a little food negate the effects of it?
I work overnight and go to the gym right after work, and as I get off work ill have a 1/2 cup of oatmeal and 1 scoop of protein powder, I must have this meal to at least survive because at this point I'm already starved and close to catabolism being that I have a very fast pace and physical job.

Eating a big meal and then taking a pre-wo will reduce the effectiveness of the stims or "energy" it produces. It will take longer to digest on a full stomach. Taking it on an empty stomach typically will ensure that "in 30 minutes" time frame to work. A protein shake won't kill it for ya though, i'd dose the shake a bit before the pre if possible.

If you want the most effectivenss from you stims then an empty stomach is best. It just may not be benificial to what your goals are. ie: if your bulking then starving yourself is not the best.
I work out right when I wake up w/ 200mgs of caffiene (tablet). All I eat is a small bananna w/ protein shake. Does me good. I've found w/ 1,3dimeth I need to take it 45mins prior to wo for best effectiveness as it takes a while to hit me. I no longer use 1,3 though as its too much speed for what's needed. Tweeks me for 3-4hrs.I got big by re-racking your weights....

Hi,
This depends on what you eat and how much. What I have noticed is that eating a huge portion of pasta or meat before the gym (2 hours before) was not the best thing (too much digestion going on in the gym) and slightly inhibiting the absorption of my pre-workouts. There is no way in hell I would sacrifice my pre-workout meal so I adjusted what I ate and how much. What I do now is consume some oats mixed with berries etc and a banana 1-1.5 hours before the gym. I then consume 25g of whey protein 1 hour before the gym and finish off with my pre-workout drink 30min before the gym. This formula has worked out BEST for me. Everyone is different but it never hurts to try out different things until one finds whats best for his or her goals.Compone Accomoda Supera (Improvise, Adapt and Overcome)
