Its a depressive substance that is pretty much poison to the human body.

It leads to drunk driving deaths, domestic abuse, and shattered dreams.

It traps people in poverty because it makes them spend all their money on alcohol to temporarily feel better instead of spending on things that will improve their lives and financial situation.

Literally nothing good comes out of alcohol.
Its holding society back.

I have a cabinet full of herbal extracts that are 40% pure alcohol - you drink them. In some cases, the presence of the alcohol actually makes the theraputic effect of the herbs stronger. Again, hormesis = low dose of toxins acting therapeutically:

Cause the root of the problem is not adressed.

If the Mexico was invaded, and we hung the cartels by their necks for everyone to see, then there would be a decrease in the amount of drugs.

Right now the problem is that they are trying to stop the flow of drugs.

To truly eliminate drugs, the source has to be eliminated, not the distributors.

They are not only made in Mexico, but they are one of the largest suppliers. If you take out the large suppliers, the flow of drugs gets cut tremendously. Sure there will still be poverty drug plantations in some bum's basement, but there are going to be significantly less drugs.

Also there should be programs to instil into peoples heads that these substances are counterproductive and disgraceful so that eventually people will stop using them without enforcement.

Agree alcoholic drinks should be banned. Has no benefit to society at all. Spent my teens being a dumb kunt getting fukked up every weekend with hundreds of other fukwits in one place. Only leads to idiots acting in a violent or stupid way. Actions of drunk fools will definitely affect you at some point in your life. Possibly multiple times.

If you don't want to consume it in excess and get fukked up, then there is plenty of better tasting options out there. If you do like a buzz, you are no better than a drug user
