Wrist sore after bicep curls (dumbell/barbell)

    Hey,

After i finish doing my sets of curls, whether it be barbell or dumb bell curls, i get a pain sensation (for around 2-3 seconds) in my wrist when i put the weights down. As soon as i let go of the weights, it's as if blood quickly rushes to the area. Anyone know much about this? Tried googling without much luck...

I'm not sure this is the problem. I also get the problem when doing deadlifts. It's as if circulation is being cut off to my wrist section when i'm tightly gripping the bar, then when i release pressure, circulation is restored to my wrist area and i feel the sensation....

It happens to alot of people when using barbells however not so much with dbs. So stop with BBs and use Dbs or an EZ bar

I know what you mean. I'm not so sure there's anything you can do for it except let your body get conditioned to the strain you're putting it through. If the pain lasts longer, I would stop whatever you are doing just to make sure you aren't damaging your joints.
U irate that I rep back on recharge?

I'm actually just getting over this pain. I would feel an INTENSE pain in my upper forearms whenever I would curl with dumbells, shrugs, or anything which required a tight grip. It felt like it was in the bone. What I did was alter my workout to not strain my forearms so much. I also cut out anything which required a strong grip. I bought wristwraps to help relieve the tension, and I did more reps on all my exercises with lighter weights.

The pain was so bad that I could not even do a pullup. It sucked. It has taken about a month to get them mostly healed. I can do pullups/chinups now without pain.

Also, to work the biceps I found that hammer curls do not hurt. Other people recommend using the EZ bar, but that hurt for me.

Anyways good luck, it takes some time for the pain to go away, but it will.

Oh, and lightly working out the forearms before each workout seems to help.

It happened to me a good amount. Just be slow and steady on form and what I did, I am not saying do this, was taped the crap out of my left wrist so I would not have movement when I did my curls, I did have a major injury with my left shoulder though. best of luck
