I'm hoping you can help me. So I'm a 35 yr old male who used to be fit and flexible and was toned. Now with work and age I have become unfit, my body always aches, I'm not flexible at all anymore and I am not toned as I used to be, not at all. I think it's because for my job I am standing for 11 hours a day on a hard surface and its just affecting my body and that's why I am always in so much pain and why my body feels so tense and stiff and sore. I've been doing this job going onto 16 years now!
Anyways a few weeks ago I decided to start to lose weight which I have now lost 5 KG's and my stomach is much flatter.
I have now decided I wanted to get started on some weight training but start off very slow. It's going to sound ridiculous but I started last night with just 2 and a half KG's as I do suffer many aches and pains and I also do have a sore elbow on my right arm.
My issue is tho, when I do the weights, I'm not straining of course because it is only 2kg but afterwards I feel a pulling feeling in my throat. It's uncomfortable, its as if I'm kind of choking in a way and it feels vert tense and tight. It can even cause me to burp heaps, my throat just feels so extremely tense!
Now I had felt this before years ago when I used to lift much heavier weights coz I would be straining but I only lifted 2kg and I'm feeling it already.
It's making me feel so uncomfortable and so embarrassed cause I want to start to get fit and toned again but its my second day and I already have issues with such a very light weight.
Has anyone heard of this issue before? do you know what it is? How to fix it? anything please?
