Hello folks before I went into the system I did not know that such a world exsisted.Ask me any questions you have and I will answer them.I'm sure you folks have heard things about boys homes shelters foster homes etc.Well I can clear up any questions or confusion you guys have.Just wanted to pass the knowledge along.Feel good now that I got my driving learners permit and one step closer to get a car.

my friend had the same situation. ****in sucks u are not allowed to drive till you are like 18 bcuz they think ull run away or some ****. ever herd of a ****in bus?

Mother was druggie,father passed at young age 12

There is alot of corruption like with insurance and such.They bill our names multiple times so that doctors/hosptials can collect more money.
I could write a book on all the corruption.Only postive you get a chance to go to school virtual free(almost).Only 10% that go gradute.I am in that number so thats like 10 people in the state. Very Sad.The rest go to jail or become homless.Been almost homes like 5 times now.
They make at the lowest what i was worth when i left 600 to 2500 at the highest.This is per child.My avg worth was 1500 a month.

Father ok Mother alot of hate still talk to her.glad i moved almost 2000 miles away thou

This is exaclty right also money is an issue you dont have any money for yourself working is almost out of the question as you live with 20 people or more.Thats the reason for my late driving education.

Very much so my friend.I think very deeply about everything and try hard at everything I do.Not only was I in foster care but before then I lived in the ghetto's of the south in poverty.So I don't give up easy and my personality is very diverse.After living with so many differnt people of all ages male/female and races,I can talk to any type of person.I just moved to boston in August and I'm the youngest one in the company at 20.

Used to be very long time felt alone in the world on my older brother even turned his back on me and I only have 2 living relatives mother/brother.

But the anger soon turned into desire and that lead to hard work thats taking me places now.

Damn. Congrats on makin it out.

I wasn't raised in a foster care but i grew in the projects in NY (so basically poverty). Seems like people don't understand when you're raised in a actual struggle its not easy to get out the mental state of just bein another statistic or hoodlum in the slums.

I had about 10 or more differnt sets of foster parents not including the homeless shelters and rtc's.

Some were nice got you things they didn't have to get you ex. video game

Other were mean all about the money treated you like ****/slave.My most recent ones worked me out the in fields in the country halling trash cutting grass up to your knee and such.After that I went to live with one of my teachers from high school for a bit

I didn't even go to graduation I was work Home Depot at the time.The next day I caught a ride to a city 150miles away to start college.I put myself in.Once again no help from anyone. +(

Kids is not something I think about right now,still cleaning up my parents mistakes.

Yes I am my 4 degree is toward Mech Eng 2 years left.
I just took a year off and I'm doing IT(Systems Admin/Help desk) for a healthcare company in New England.

Whats odd is that I was told that my mother was actively using crack while I was in the womb yet I have no issues.Maybe this would account for the reason that when ever someone speak I instantly visualize what there saying and what to "calculate" there words.

Took a year off Mech Eng is major,But i may stay with IT as im close to 40k my 1st year with this company the money is much easer/faster than eng.

Also how it molded my personality.The last women I was seeing was 10 years older than me 29 caucasion female(fav kind).

You were getting screwed then bro. One of my best friends was in fooster care from middle to high school and he got all sorts of breaks. He got allowances for clothes and other stuff. The free school thing is pretty sweet too. If you know the system you can get a lot out of it. Sucky situation though, good for you for making it out.

My buddy speaks at local and state wide things for more rights for foster care. It is definitely true about the high homeless rate and everything. Pretty sad.

Ya I spoke at a few myself.Foster care would be alot better but way to many people do it for the money(very easy money up to 2500 with an avg of 1500 per month)so there motive is wrong therfore they see the child as a paycheck.Most foster parents dont even work the live off the kids.

OMG you would belive how many.Sadly I was unable to par take in any of this.But like every other weekend they would ran away to go have sex with someone or some of the guys in my unit would try to sneak out and have sex with them but if you got caugh BAD things will happen.They can make you "disapear" I saw so many pregnate chicks in these places.I can only imagine how high the std rate was. I only got herpes.... wait wut?
