Seriously, whatever happened to this mentality (Below)?? I know that the amount of hits on this subsection alone make Ryan a lot of money, so why not back the fuk off and quit over-modding the misc? (srs question is srs)

Here is my philosophy on the Misc. which I posted in the Mod forum:

Once again, the idea of the Misc. is for "EVERYTHING ELSE". It's supposed to be the place where people can talk about anything, do pretty much anything (other than be completely racist, post porn, illegal stuff, etc.). It's a place to just mess around, make jokes, poke fun at people (in a fun way), get into arguments about politics and sports, etc. That's the whole point! If we don't let them do it in Misc., they WILL do it elsewhere. You'll never get rid of people trying to have fun with their online friends and be entertained.

And: It's VERY popular! It's become its own beast.

Overly modding or censoring the Misc. is completely pointless and a waste of time. It seems to me we are banning people left and right for small offenses and deleting posts just because they are "irritating". Why?

The basic Misc. rules:

1. No porn.
2. No illegal stuff.
3. No blatant racism.
4. You can e-fight with others, but don't take it too far (constant harrassment, calling them racist names, etc.).
5. No spam.
6. No posting 50 messages in a row with one word in it just to be an idiot.

Otherwise... have at it! It's the "free" area of the forum where you can get all of that stuff out so you don't have to mess up other areas where people want to discuss bodybuilding and fitness.

It's the locker room of the high school gym where you flick your towel at your friend's back, or make fun of Bob's small wiener, or turn up your Rage Against The Machine CD as high as your stereo will go while you play air guitar.

It's not the squat rack where joking is innappropriate (shoving the guy that's under a 400 pound bar is not funny). It's not the leg curl machine where pretending to dry hump the hot girl on her third set is NOT funny. Most of the rest of the forum is for the serious bodybuilding stuff.

It's mostly young guys talking about stupid young guy stuff (like 90% of the Internet).

Don't get it? Don't understand what the allure of the Misc. is? Then don't go there and definitely don't mod there.
