So I started to do my squats and cleans.
My question is how I should be doing these? I mean like sets?
I want to increase my max on each.
Right now I am squatting a mere 205 and cleaning only 125.
I want to gain enough to be squatting 315 about 3-5 times, and cleaning 185 5 times.
That is my goal. Max goals-350 squat, and 205 clean.
I really want to just do that.
Should I be following the 5x5 lift?
As I understand it, it goes 1 set with weight 5 times
Increase 5lbs and do 5, and so on.
So in my case it would look like this:
Cleans start 95 x5, 100x5, 105x5, 110x5, and 115x5, I alternate 2 set power cleans, 2 set hang cleans, and 1 set military cleans.
Squat 120x5, 125x5, 130x5, 135x5, 140x5
But then the next day so m, then w,
I would do, Squat 4x8, and Cleans 4x8.
I started to do this routine, wondering if it will work. I know to gain that much weight on my maxes will take time, I'm not looking for some sure fire way to gain 100lbs of max in 4 days, I just want to know what is the best way to increase my maxes?
