It doesn't get a "bad rap" on its own, but often when combined with other stimulants. People (including myself) experience significant increases in heart rate to the point where it's uncomfortable (and potentially dangerous depending on the dose and the user).
It's overkill. They're supposed to be synergistic (and they are, as shown in relevant research, but in the cardiovascular system just as much as in fat cells), but believe it or not, ephedrine actually accomplishes exactly what yohimbine does to a degree. In fat cells, this is good, directly in the heart, not so much- good reason not to combine the two- especially good reason not to combine the two if you're using ephedra extract.
