From Jack Weatherford’s book Genghis Khan and the Making of the Modern World
“The Chinese noted with surprise and disgust the ability of the Mongol warriors to survive on little food and water for long periods; according to one, the entire army could camp without a single puff of smoke since they needed no fires to cook. Compared to the Jurched soldiers, the Mongols were much healthier and stronger. The Mongols consumed a steady diet of meat, milk, yogurt, and other dairy products, and they fought men who lived on gruel made from various grains. The grain diet of the peasant warriors stunted their bones, rotted their teeth, and left them weak and prone to disease. In contrast, the poorest Mongol soldier ate mostly protein, thereby giving him strong teeth and bones. Unlike the Jurched soldiers, who were dependent on a heavy carbohydrate diet, the Mongols could more easily go a day or two without food.”

OP welcome to 2010. We aren't warriors anymore, let's face it. No one will eat like this based just on some book about mongols

Modern society has had to adopt a grain/carb based diet because they wield far more production compared to protein based food.
It roughly takes 60, 108, 168, and 229 pounds of water to produce a pound of potatoes, wheat, corn and rice respectively. Beef however, requires 12,000 gallons of water.
Animal consumed 100 kg of hay and 4 kg of grain per 1 kg of beef produced.Keeping it within.

60% carbs? please shut up. get diabetes all you want, but don't drag the misc down that road with you.
EDIT: Also, for a male consuming 3000 calories for maintenance, 20% protein is 600 calories worth. This is 150 grams of protein. Not enough to maintain muscle mass for a lifter weighing 180+ pounds

This just means we have passed carrying capacity for human beings on earth who eat a natural diet (meat, veg, fruit etc). Your solution is to eat a **** diet based on grains that causes health problems so we can allow even more people to have even larger families. Then what? Its a vicious cycle, next you'll have someone on here saying not only cant we eat meat but we can no longer eat fruit and vegetables any more and must rely solely on genetically modified grains...
edit: holy **** just re-read your first sentence, ^^^ this is actually what you are suggesting, GTFO.

the fact is if mongol warriors lived in the society we live in today , they would probably eat carbs for performance/recovery

American Diabetes Association:
"Myth: Eating too much sugar causes diabetes.
Fact: No, it does not. Type 1 diabetes is caused by genetics and unknown factors that trigger the onset of the disease; type 2 diabetes is caused by genetics and lifestyle factors. Being overweight does increase your risk for developing type 2 diabetes, and a diet high in calories, whether from sugar or from fat, can contribute to weight gain."

excuse me? women should leave the arguing to men and just return to the kitchen.
edit: all of you people are retarded. just eat a normal 40/40/20 split or 33/33/33 or 30/40/30 split doesnt fking matter just get in a good amount of proteins and keep everything reasonably level. If trying to cut just cut calories and calm down.
