Thanks and me too. I'm tired of waking up with pain in my hands.
Great. Also thats true, I hate bench and only do when I need to for PL comp. Will do dips and **** just for you. Funny that your bench is only 40lbs higher than mine and you train it Before you go wing span of peace I'm 5'4 with a 5'10-11 wing span soooooo

Combined maybe.
And my meet Dl socks are Hello kitty. How have you been?
Strongman
Yoke 100'
345 x 2
435 x 2
525 x 2
565 x 2
Husafell stone max distance
Really far
Keg load to 48'', 5 min.
20 give or take a rep
Finally got under a yoke outside. Was as fast and ****ty as I remembered. Husafell stone = good times always. Gym owner wanted to load so we went back to the gym and did kegs for time. This knotted my lower back good but was nice to see I have ok conditioning compared to others.
In non lifting news my wife and I came home to an electrical fire in the basement last night. Everything is good and I put it out before the fire department arrived but one more beer at the bar and I would have been homeless.

Thanks, today went well
I mean TRX rings are pretty boss lol. For the vast majority of gym idiots a yoke is a great way to get hurt honestly. Still sucks. Do you know what a chain yoke is?
Log 12''
90 x 5
140 x 4
180 x 3
230 x 1 x 2
250
270
280 pR
Speed dl

Lots of rolling and stuff.
I was told not to pull heavy today after I asked. I took the advice.
There is a video of the press but it is on my buddy's cell phone and I am waiting for it to be sent to me. It was a easy looking press.

Thanks. You should check out the DIY strongman sticky in the PL forum if you have not yet. It will get you by with equipment until the cash comes for good quality stuff.
No she did not give them to me but I wear the socks to honor her. When I started here I was a "am I strong/skinny" knucklehead like we see all the time. Becky was nice and helped me with form vids and set me up with my first meet. I like to remember where I came from and how far I still have to go.
Strongman is fun even if it is just to change the powerlifting pace a bit. If you have the time you should find a contest and train 6ish weeks for it as a new challenge. Also I agree bench is dumb but squats are good

Strong enough to make a difference SM contest
My Amy Simmer has a charity contest in MN so I went to compete against some friends as I knew it would be a ****ing battle.
Last man standing 10'' true log.
Started we all started at 170 and I viperd everything to 250. When it was 250 the three of us got it. 270 Ben didn't come close, I lost it at lockout due to balance, Bryan got 270. The log was Bryans, literally. Tied 2nd
560 yoke, run back, 450 frame 50''
They switched to this at the last minute and I just laughed when they mentioned the weights. Ran the whole thing in 21.?? which was the fastest of the whole contest. 1st
Last man standing 15'' dead
Opened at 550, make 605, missed 655. Tied for 1st
At this point I was in the lead, but from here it just went down hill. I couldn't get a lot of food down or more caffeine without getting sick. My wanting to destroy **** faded fast.
275 Husaful stone
I went last here because I was first. Bryan layed down a 400' carry and I made a mistake on my setup and knew at the 200' mark I wasn't going to hold for 200 more feet so I set it down to save myself for stones. 3rd or 4th IDK
Stone over bar 49'' 270
Ended up getting 5 I think for 3rd or 4th again, not happy with that.
There were 5 competitors in the 200 class but it was really a three man show which consisted of me, Bryan Hendricks, and Ben Loehrer. Bryan has edged me in 3 contests and well he did it again by the end of the day. Ben is a gym owner and former 240lb monster manlet who was a great guy to compete against. I took 3rd at the end of the day and am not really upset about it. We had a great battle and where within 1-3 was 2 points the whole contest. I just didn't have it by the end of the day. I'm not beat up, had a good time, raised some money for charity = win.
There are vids floating around from Bryan and I will post them when he uploads them.
I'm going to head back up there in a few weeks to get some help with my stoneload and drinking contest. There is a slim possibility I may get matched up with Alanna Casey for a couples contest in the future, will be funny if this happens.

Nice! Ben Loehrer runs the gym I go to, Los Campeones.
Also, I'm thinking about moving down a weight class and being a lightweight strongman. What do ya think?Eternal Gym Rat, Student Physical Therapist. None of my post content should be taken as medical advice. Ask your doctor/PT.

I think you would have way more fun and it would bring back you "need" to lift"'. You are in the right town and have options I do not here for strongman and related activities so go for it. Tim would also let you train with him if you desire since Ben is more into BB and Oly.
I had Ben until the stones and if I would have gotten 3rd or better he would have lost lol. Ben's a nice guy and a good competitor. Tell him I said hi.
Also I will be back up there in a few weeks to train, you want me to hit you up?

I think I want to get down to about 200 lbs for health reasons. If I maintain my strength I figure I'll be pretty competitive in that class. I've just been lifting for fun in the gym recently anyway, and I think the variety of Strongman should help.
Yes, hit me up. We'll throw some weights around.Eternal Gym Rat, Student Physical Therapist. None of my post content should be taken as medical advice. Ask your doctor/PT.

Thanks Jason. I know I shouldn't bitch about the little things.
Some pressing
135 x 2
225 x 2
275 x miss lol
275 x easy
295 x miss twice
Please tell me why
I'll be honest, I've been pushing hard since nationals prep. Including nationals I have done 7 contests and one PL meet, so thats 8 contests in 7 months. Surprisingly I have not gotten super beat up but am getting a little burnt out. Doing so taught me how to handle myself at contests again. Not sure what is going to happen between now and nationals prep but I feel it's a better idea to go into prep at 100% then to keep beating myself down for local shows.
I have finally acquired all the parts for my truck and am going to spend some time working on that project.
