I am semi worried about the 8 inch log. Its not heavy, but i have never touched one. The axle i think i can man handle. The 12 inch, probably isnt going anywhere.
The stone is by far the most interesting to me. I think i will get a bunch of reps or 0, nowhere in between. You should wear some heels while loading
I was thinking moon boots . The stone will be fun and I think I will have more of an issue with height than weight. I once loaded a 250+ stone into the back of my bosses van which is about 40''. It was a real stone we saw on the side of the road and he decided he wanted it. Now we go around looking for heavy stones for me to load in his van and I get points on speed because we do not want his license plate number taken down.
So BongoBanger and I are going to run ort/mag with a 505 max. We both have a 475 gym pull pr and are at about the same weight. Because I have prior obligations for this weekend I have had to switch my workouts around for the week. I DL'ed on Saturday and just went and did it again.
More human than human was on my Ipod and that song makes me smash whatever I am doing so I did 1x4 instead of 2x2. If you want something fun to do at the gym go around asking people how much they weigh and if they will sit on your weight sled so you can pull them around the gym. My legs we so shot I had to take a break while I was walking down 3 stairs.

Today was better than I thought it would be. Felt like **** at work so I went home instead of class and did my taxes, felt better and so I went to the gym. Speed bench was speedy and and OHP felt good until I didn’t get an elbow under fast enough, funny feeling from that. I pressed that rep and was done after. Last time I did cable rows I could only do 150 x 5 so I have gotten stronger hahahahah!
Squatting and farmers carry tomorrow. Hoping for 240 a hand.

Went to see a physical therapist today and was surprised by what she had to say. So work convinced me to work out today instead of tomorrow even though I did not really feel it. Well I got there and it was game on. I am really, really, surprised that I got 455 for a double but I did so F yea! Wish I would have taken my camera to the gym.

I got to the gym and another kid just started ¼ squatting in the only rack. He said I would work in with him which I did. I did my first warm up set and he started asking me questions. Long story short he is a lot better at squatting.
I went to rack the 365 and missed the J hook and all of the weight just went flying. Luckily nobody got hurt and the bar got caught under one J hook and did not flip. After the weight fell off I was done mentally (scared ****less) and it was just not the same. I had about 5 of the 405 in me pre weight drop and almost didn’t get under the bar after.

Got to meet Auston Taylor today and we went to strong man training. Meet a great crew about 45 minutes from my house. The crew trains on Saturday’s so I will be heading there on Saturday’s from now on if my schedule allows. I am happy that I went today because I was able to work with the same implements that I will be using in the comp and got tips on the stones. I also found out that I will not be the lightest person in the under 200 class and I stand a great chance for a podium finish.

To start things I only got 4.5 hrs of sleep the night before and ate less than 1000 cal’s going into this workout so I was not expecting much. I was surprised when I started squatting and the weight just kept going up. I have moved my stance back in a bit and after watching the “double breath” video that was posted in the family thread I was able to stay much tighter. With the 355 I wanted to get 5 but everything started going hazy on the way up with 4 so I racked it. Bench felt like **** so I let it go.

The weight was just flying up! I considered going for 515 today but I decided to stick to the program and rep out 365. I am thinking about doing a meet April 17th in the UPA which is the same one Hickson is doing. This would give me three weeks between the strong man comp next week and the PL meet.

I think there were a lot of issues. Thanks for stopping by.
1) I was not able to lift in the gym with any success for the longest time because of distractions. I have learned how to focus on what I am doing there and this more than anything has helped my lifting a ton.
2) I have only been doing DL for about 9 months now and was not completely understanding how my personal build played into my pulling. At first I really was trying to pull like Rob T. and Eric L. so my ass was way down. Once I started learning what worked for me my DL took off. 5'4'' with almost a 6' wingspand and DL in squat shoes.
3) speed work and grip and rip style. I cannot break weights off the ground with a slow set up. 2^. I think a slow set up can prime your body to feel just how heavy the weight is vs. just grabbing it and going. By the time I feel how heavy the weight feels the lift is in montion.
4) Thinking to much about how I have not hit X# of weight for Y# of reps.
5) I pulled 500lbs. It helps when you are no longer trying to pull a 1rm every workout.
6) I now take chalk to the gym and no one says a work.
7) I'm stronger now.

The stone was fun today and spider tack is some crazy stuff. I wrapped my arms a put tack on and when I was picking the stone it ripped the wrap right off of my arm. Would have had a lot more reps but the tack ripped off my arms as well.
