Here we are IFBB posters once again and the Arnold Classic is just 13 short weeks away.
Seems alot but the guys already started their paths to glory, redemption or recognition...
In this thread we discuss everything related to the upcoming Arnold Classic as well as past editions.
Phil Heath Status = Uncomfirmed
Assuming that "The Gift" is doing the show he has to be considered the favourite to this show.
Why? After a year of success with 2 runner-up placings to both Kai and Jay where he could have arguably been the winner & the disappoitment showing of Kai at the Olympia, the hype is all on Phil as the favourite.
Phil keeps improving show after show and he seems to be finally ready to take what he deserves in both the ASC and the Olympia. He's not just knocking at the door anymore, he's crashing it.
[/QUOTE]
Kai Greene Status = Uncomfirmed but almost certain
Kai had a pretty good year right up until the last Olympia where he placed a very disappointing 7th place finisher.
Kai is a 2x ASC champion and a treat to any major show. Many people are doubting his capabilities to get up there again but if he nails his conditioning at the ASC, only Phil can stop him.
It's gonna be interesting to see what type of package Kai brings at the ASC because he's definitely one looking for redemption.
Branch Warren Status = Confirmed
Branch has been 2nd,3rd & 4th multiple times in this competition and winning most-muscular awards at the ASC for 4 years now.
He's in the best shape of his life and has been 2nd and 3rd at the Olympia. He most likely will be the most conditioned guy in the entire line-up again and if Kai is off by a few percent, Branch is right there to steal his spot and actually win the show if Phil doesn't compete as well.
Look up for Branch to be a major treat to win the show. Branch is also another guy who's been showing improvements from show to show.
Dexter Jackon Status = Confirmed
The blade Dexter Jackson is always a treat to win the ASC and a former 3x champion and Olympia champion.
If some guys slip up, the blade will be ready to take their place after his best showing ever at the Olympia '10.
Victor Martinez Status = Confirmed
After a very disappointing 8th finish, Victor needs to show that he's ready to battle and that he should not be underestimated.
If big Vic nails his conditioning, he can win the whole show. If not he can be in for another huge disappointment.
It's gonna be interesting to see if Vic is past his prime or if he can still be called a contender.
Dennis Wolf Status = Confirmed
After many have thought that young Dennis Wolf was already finished for bodybuilding. Wolf gets his sh*t together and places Top 5 again at last year's Olympia show.
Dennis still have major weak points but his humongous width and size next to the others cant be denied.
If some of the Top 5 guys are off and Dennis is on with good fullness, he can upset some of them.
Interested to see what type of improvements he can bring to the stage. Now that he's on the right track again.
Ronny Rockel Status = Confirmed
After his best year ever with a Pro win and two 6th place finishers in both the ASC and the Olympia. Ronny is ready to repeat the feet.
Last year he brought big improvements to his back and was able to upset huge names like Kai and Victor Martinez.
Wait for a fierce battle between Ronny, Wolf & Centopani at the next Arnold Classic edition.
Evan Centopani Status = Confirmed
After a long layoff and a pro win in his only pro show many are expecting much from this young rookie that is seen as a future Mr.Olympia winner.
The ASC with the toughest competition in years will be a test of fire for Evan and we gonna be able to see how he stacks up against the big boys.
So far he still has major weak points but he has a competitive enough package to give a run for their money to the big names. Looking forward to see how he stacks up.
Other confirmed names so far:
Toney Freeman
Hidetada Yamagishi
Roelly Winklaar

Good thread Otis! But I guarantee you it won't be the only one

nice otis.
edit: he banned?.......
I can't wait to see how Evan ranks up against some of the elites.
Hopefully heath decides to partake this year, and possibly win the whole thing this time.No e-stat'n here...

Why did OP get banned?? Great thread...
For some reason I feel like if Heath was going to do the AC, we'd know it. If he's in, he's my favorite to win, but assuming he isn't it gets more interesting to call.
I'd say up top you'll have some arrangement of Kai/Dex/Branch. After that, it's anyone's guess, but I'd say Vic and Rockel would be my next 2, and possibly Evan rounding out the top-6.

Kai sucking once was a one-off thing, and he can't be counted to do it again. If he decides to show up (there's a lot of question marks surrounding his future) he will probably do very well.
We're dodging more ninjitsu attacks than Flex Wheeler. We're ducking more bullets than George Farah. We're facing more death than a kid leg pressing at Branch Warren's gym.
You can't stop us. You can't hold us back.
