Look it up. Youtube is your friend.

It is a great lower back exercise.

You can also do rackpulls.
Use the tools of the trade to help you. I use devices such as chalk for grip strength, gloves, wrist straps, lifting belts - if it helps you lift more, it's all good. - Ronnie Coleman, Hardcore, 2007 Triumph Books

Biggest question in bodybuilding: Whaddaya bench? As I've said before, it doesn't matter how much you bench; it matters how much you look like you bench... There's no round on stage that's the benchpress round. - Bob Chicherillo, World Class Physique, CMG

Cool

Squats obviously, Low cable row, and stiff leg deadlift which also works the lower back is a great exercise to do in between sets of standard deadlift if soreness or stiffness becomes a issue.

machine rows for low back?? use a low cable row and full ROM, start the pull from the glutes and squeeze up the spinal column as you pull the weight to your belly area. Use a light weight and close your eyes to get the mind muscle connection down right and when you do working sets, use proper form and controlled motions.

i'll also put my vote in for good mornings, I love using a moderate weight and doing higher reps for this exercise to help loosen things up in the low back/glutes area before I do a more intense exercise such as a DL or Squat

I do not understand this statement, what exactly are you trying to say with this? How does this comparison of two completely different exercises have any relevance to a discussion about exercises for the lower back?
Strength + Speed = Power

If you never fail, you aren't truly pushing yourself to the limit. If you never push yourself to the limit, how do you know what you're truly capable of?
