Possible that I am working out too much?

So I haven't really seen any negative affects. However, I work out 5 times a week. Monday, wednesday, and Friday upper body tuesday and Thursday lower. I am wondering if this could be bad? Or catch up in the long run. I have made some nice gains and see results. However, I have read about over working and how that is a bad thing.

3 to 4 days is enough for good gains, training more than that will slow down strength gains.

I doubt it. Many people here including myself do 5 and even 6 day splits, and it works out fine. As long as you have rest days to let yourself recover, you'll be fine. A negative effect could be if you are cutting and the deficit of calories doesn't give you enough energy to do your workouts, so you lose muscle. But you said you are making gains so I think you're fine.

make sure your eating enough food. if this programme is working for you and your happy with your progress then stick with it. its more to build a base for you as a beginner. Because there's no way your targeting each muscle group as efficiently as other splits. Which is why you can do upper body 3 times a week without much soreness.

    I train 6 days a week

As long as you're recovering and making progress, there's no point in doing less. You should always try to find the sweet spot where you can do as much volume as possible as long as you're making progress and are satisfied with lifting.

overtraining is pretty hard, unless you're new to BB and go 2x a day everyday

its not overtraining. Like everyone said and will say, eat foods throughout the day (dont go hours without eating)

Have a steady source of protein throughout the day

Im cutting and working out 5-6x a week each muscle 2x a week. Its hard and feels ****ty but its not overtraining

I myself workout 6-9 times a week and don't see any negative effects. Just be smart with your workouts and spread them out accordingly. The only time you're working out too much is if you physically are not able to do the same weight(getting weaker) or your body is getting sick and you're not feeling well. Don't use soreness as an indicator of overworking
