Depends on how many calories you're taking in and yes whey will help with that. If you want to gain weight and muscle then grab a mass gainer.

bro, you are utterly clueless about weight gain. Water is weight. Bone is weight. Fat is weight. So, taking creatine will result in weight gain from intracellular water retention.

Ingesting too many calories (which can be accomplished by consistently taking a couple whey protein shakes too many) can also result in weight gain from fat gains from the chronic caloric surplus.

I suggest that you spend some time in the NUTRITION forum of this website lurking.

How much you weight? How much you want to gain? Whey is a fast absorbing protein. Protein has 4 calories/1g and same for carb, 4 cal/g, but fat has 9 calories/g. It all comes down to your daily calorie intake vs. the total calories you burn per day.

Not whey, but if you want to gain weight, drink something like Monster Mass XXX. it has something like 1650 calories in a serving, which is 3/4 your daily intake for an average human. I dont use it, sine im 6'0, 295, so i cant give you results.

Your most likely not eating enough.

Start logging/counting calories on everything you eat, it will keep you honest with yourself about how much your actually taking in.

As people have said, weight gain is very very simple. If you eat more calories than you burn you will gain weight. If you eat less than you burn you will lose weight. It is entirely about calories.

Whey has calories, thus it is part of the equation. It doesn't have any magical properties in regards to weight gain outside of its caloric content though.
