I'm going to be starting my powerlifting tomorrow, question about benching. If i do dumbbell press day one chest day than for day 2 chest day i do barbell press, is that good? I have heard that dumbbell press gets your bench press higher that's why im asking

The reason people are being dicks is because what you mentioned is complete garbage for powerlifting. It resembles more of a bodybuilding split than a powerlifting routine. Also bodybuilders have "chest days", Powerlifters have bench days. Also you have your arm and chest size in your signature... which indicates you are more concerned about size than strength.
And yes dumbell bench can help get your bench higher, but so can tricep pushdowns and lateral raises... doesn't mean you should base a workout around them. There is no such thing as 'strong enough'

Lee Hayward is a powerlifting coach and he even incorporates push ups in his workouts..Yes,concentrate on bench for the most part, but heavy DB press, dips and reverse flys are going to raise your bench numbers!
Your not going to grow from light weight, and your not going to grow from light food.........
