Do you get sick from fried or greasy food now?

So I lived off of fast food and chips/cookies/cokes etc, for a few years. It's been about 5-6 months since I've been eating healthy, and have been doing really good.

I ate some fried shrimp last night, and was puking it all up about 2 hours later. My stomach was fine shortly afterwords. This has only happened one other time about 2 months ago. It seems that my stomach just can't handle it anymore.

Should I be at all worried about this? Not that I want to start eating fried food again, but I'm just curious if this is normal...

You probably had something that made you sick, not the greasy food itself.

Although I do feel sick when I eat greasy food, I never actually get sick. My body is just not used to it anymore.

Could all be in your head.
Coulda been a bad shrimp (like Pug said)
Then again, eating a deep-fried greasy piece of fried crap is pretty foreign to your body after going 100% "clean" for a long time. definitely a shock to the body.

I used to eat fast food literally three times a day at minimum, and never had a problem. But since i've started eating nutritious whole foods, anytime I eat out, I pay for it dearly the next day through my BM's. Sometimes it's worth it, but usually it's not.

I'm confused. What makes you think the shrimp were processed? He just wrote that the shrimp where fried.

Guys, he ate some fried shrimp and got sick. This happens. He probably just ate a bad shrimp or two. Simple as that.

I had the same diet as you. When I decided to work out, I ate extremely healthy for 3 months before having a cheat meal. I had a burger and fries from Wendy's. I remember feeling pretty sick for most of the night.

Just the smell of crappy food makes me sick now. On the flight to Hawaii last night this couple with kids brought McDonalds on the plane, the smell was unbearable! I'll stick to the 'eat clean' routine.

Fried foods have always fuccked with my stomach.
Now... when I was obese... and everywhere in between.
I finally wised up and cut them out a couple years back.

I still eat "junk" like ice cream, candy, cereal, etc. on a regular basis and my stomach is fine with that. =P

Its blandness. Chicken breast, brown rice, vegetables etc all have close to zero oil/grease. Eat that for a while, then eat a cheeseburger.....you will be sick.

Possibly, your body is not used to it now as it had been so long since you had eaten anything fried or greasy.

Another possible cause, as someone else suggested, could have been something in the shrimp, which I think is more likely. Food poisoning can occur sometimes.

Back when I was 7 years old, I threw up one night after eating too much fried shrimp and clams at Red Lobster. It's more likely the amount I had eaten, though, rather than than the shrimp/clams themselves.

I don't eat fried/greasy foods often now, but whenever I eat some, I don't have any issues with them.
