    The texas method?

K so here's my question, I completed the stronglifts 5x5 and had great gains. I'm thinkIng about doing the Texas method 5/3/1 will this still provide me with somewhat similar gains as my previous workout?

Any opinions and suggestions are greatly appreciated guys

    Thumbs up

I've read a lot of good things from guys doing different variations of 5/3/1. Texas method should be pretty good for you.

On a side note, you said you liked SL 5x5. I started this a few weeks back. I'm recovering very quickly, so I'm upping the weight used. I tried to start slow squatting 90lbs, but that ****'s too light. Gradually increased, but my last 2 workouts I had to go way up. I think I've found the right formula, now I can increase 5lbs or so per workout.

Thanks buddy. When I did that 5x5 I added 5ls on bench insted of 2.5 and I went strong for a bit but then I completely stalled my advice would be to stay with that system and just add 2.5llbs. But I loved how strength levels shot up so fast while doing that 5x5

wouldnt hurt to try, whats works for others may not work for you. switching workouts is nice after every 3-4weeks, add variety to the mix haha

Texas method is a solid intermediate program. 5/3/1 can be used for all levels, but is best as an intermediate/advanced program. If you are moving to the intermediate phase, then you could either do Texas until you start stalling hard on it and then do 5/3/1, or hop straight into 5/3/1 or some variation on the idea.
    GOMAD!
