Computer Sound Crackling? Reps for help

Really confused.

It will crackle when I play games, but won't on such things as youtube.

Playing the same song from a file on my comp will produce crackle(speakers/earphones/everything) but playing the same song on youtube will be fine.

Any idea?

Uninstall codecs, run ccleaner 'issues'(to remove any old signatures of the codecs'), reinstall a codec pack(either ffmpeg/ffdshow or klite or ...)

one currently is just onboard mobo

have a soundblaster 5.1 but i bought current gaming rig from friend and mobo is a micro and gpu + aftermarket cooler takes up the pci slot

i have many times. i was thinking it was a mobo issue since

a)-sound doesnt work after start up. i have to unplug-replug sound jack into computer after every startup/boot

b)-i had trouble getting sound to work using the back tower jacks so currently my speakers plug are in the front tower jacks

i thought it was all hardware but then the perfect sound on youtube and most online streams confuses me......

Sounds like it's most likely a driver/codec issue, most games run at a more intensive level than a youtube video so that's probably why you have issues there and not with the average youtube video. Just uninstall/reinstall everything sound related and see if that does the trick

most likely a driver issue or a codec problem. The sound on my computer crackles too, but it's because my speakers are old. Can't afford to replace mine.

bingo thx good sir this fixed it. updated all drivers + codecs plus but still had crackle.

no problem man. Its most likely a ****ty driver, Creative's drivers are the worst in the industry.
