Exclamation Do you wash frozen blueberries?

I have a problem. I bought frozen blueberries at the supermarket a good price but they're in a plastic bag. I do not like plastic bags because of plasticizers and stuff like that which aren't healthy and can migrate into food especially when the food is liquid or moist which the berries are, even though they are frozen. The surface on the inside of the bag is slightly covered with blue juice. Now I don't know if stuff from the plastic could migrate into the berries.
I thought about rinsing them with some cold water before eating them but the problem is that when I rinse the frozen berries they directly start to leak. The whole water directly turns blue this means that it's not possible to wash the berries without somehow hurting them. Now I don't know what's better to rinse or not to rinse. What do you think?

    I can see that.

    > What do you think?
I think if any of the evil plasticizer neurotoxins were going to invade your blueberries, they'd already have done so and no amount of rinsing will help.

Before this thread goes any further, I would like to know where you heard this stuff about "plasticizers" invading food that has been stored in a plastic bag.

Don't hurt the berries bro! Furthermore, if you wash them you may expose them to the evil watercizers.

I do not wash my frozen blueberries. I don't think it's that big of a deal.

Do you know where those berries come from? Do they come from protected farms with fences? I mean what if they come from the forrest where foxes run around and crap on the berris? Foxes can have very dangerous fox tapeworms which do not get killed by coldth only by heat and since I don't heat the berries I wonder how dangerous it is to eat blueberries.

OK, I think you're trolling now. If you're really that worried, don't eat the damn berries. And go see a psychiatrist, because that kind of paranoia isn't healthy.

I never wash any of my fruits and vegetables. Builds up a strong immune system. I'm never sick. I even got through the E coli spinach outbreak even though I ate contaminated stuff because my body said go **** yourself to the pathogen.

I think it's a legitimate concern. A lot of cheap plastic crap from China are known to leech plastic.

If it bothers you that much TS then why don't you use fresh fruits instead?

Obviously because of the worm infested foxes purposely infiltrating farms and climbing up the bushes in order to poop on the berries.

Cause fresh berries are too expensive and they also don't last very long. Frozen is much better but I am worried about the plastic and fox tapeworms. Do you think that it's really possible that commercial blueberries are grown on fields which are not protected from foxes?

Why would you wash them? Just use them, and if there are things in it that are 'bad for you' they'll just make you stronger.

i think they are pre-washed it does not say you gotta wash them but i dont know how good they wash them and if they really remove everything. for exmaple when i put them into water then there is still stuff swimming around in the water and i dont know if this is normal or dirt.

Well, I'm stumped. You can contact your local representative or switch to frozen strawberries.

You sure? This means that foxes couldnt crap on them even if they wanted? This would at least solve the tapeworm issue.
