does the Gatorade still count toward daily water intake?

But water filtered through ground coffee beans is not the same as water since the caffeine is a diuretic.

Sooo you would you still say that if some bought the Bulk gatorade powder, took a dry scoop of it with no water, 5 seconds later drank 25 oz of water, it would count as Water BUT IF you mixed the 2(25oz water and the scoop of powder) together it wouldn't count to your water intake? im not trying to be offensive but that make no sense at all. Water is water whether its mixed or not.

Thats exactly why bbrock269's post doesnt make any sense. according to what hes saying as soon as you add crystal light, Xtend, Gratorade powder, ect. to the water it all the sudden it MAGICALLY "doesnt count" toward your water intake; so if you drink a gallon of water with crystal light in it, it wont count for your water intake; its not true and makes no sense at all.

I will make this as simple as possible. Randomhero is correct. Beverages with caffeine are diuretics and dehydrate you, defeating the entire purpose of drinking the water. In addition to keeping you hydrated, waters other primary function is to filter out the kidneys and other organs, as well as keep the metabolism up. When you are trying to keep you organs filtered out, you wouldn't use Gatorade or another sports drink that is full of sugar and all kinds of other crap. This defeats the purpose of having something pure like water running through your system. After playing sports or working out, what satisfies your thirst (dehydration) more, water or Gatorade? Sugar dehydrates you as well. If you went the entire day drinking nothing but sports drinks, coffee, sodas with no water, you would be dehydrated. Use your head people.

Heading to the gym guys... but first I'm dumping 1.5 scoops of SPMax into my mouth and then washing it down with 12 ounces of water so I don't break the water and make it useless by mixing it with the powder!

I would say yes. Water is water. If you add lemon to your water...it's still water.
The only thing I would add is that if you are adding a scoop of Tang and two tablespoons of sugar, that you should count it in your caloric intake as well (obviously)"In the quarter century since the idea that women could benefit from strength training kicked in, a powerfully counterproductive notion rose in tandem. That's the idea that women should use exercises and techniques different from those used by men. It's a ridiculous premise, bordering on fraudulence." -Lou Schuler

Your not drinking Soy Sauce man. Gatorade with 32oz or water doesn't have NEARLY enough sodium content per ounce to come even close to dehydrating you; or it would be a danger to drink to all high-intensity athletes of all ages who are in a dehydrated state. Sodium is a electrolyte. as well as chloride, potassium, calcium, and magnesium."Pain is temporary, Pride is forever"

it counts cause your drinking "water"
but
lets say you're worried that your not getting enough water. if one day you ate a ton of salty foods. you'd compensate by drinking extra water compared to a day when you didn't have such a salty rich diet.
in this sense you shouldn't count it as an effective hydrating source. relative of course to water which lacks the dehydrating qualities of sugar and table salt.BS in molecular biochemistry
