Normally I dont use the resistance bands I have lying around, but when Im running short on time and cant get to the gym, I like to workout at home.
There are a number of exercises for the triceps, but this is one I havent really noticed anyone doing.
I grabbed the heaviest band Ive got. In my case its the brownish colored one in the set from Beachbody.com. I looped it over one of the boards in the ceiling of my attic and started doing pressdowns. 5 overhand and then 5 underhand until I got to a total of about 25. I then knelt down to increase the tension and did a set of 3 overhand and 3 underhand until I couldnt do anymore.
Repeated for another 2 times for a total of 3 compound sets. Do this in conjunction with a few sets of kickbacks and Ive noticed a HELL of a pump.

no, I was simply stating how there IS a way to do pressdowns at home with limited equipment that still does a good job.

no no no, I include overhead dumbell extensions, flip grip kickbacks, seated one-arm 2 angle extensions, resistance band extensions, lying dumbell extensions, dips and the "side-tri-rise" from p90x

If you are using the same band for pressdowns and reverse grip pressdowns, I'd advise doing the RGPDs first, as people are generally weaker when emphasizing the medial head of the triceps, as opposed to lateral or long heads.

I completely agree. I usually keep the pressdowns for second to last or last to really burn the tri's out. I have noticed that the reverse grip pressdowns ARE significantly more difficult. Especially once youve worked your tri's from so many different angles already.
