How much calories does weight lifting burn?

    Hello,
I just wanted a bit of help or advice. I am 18, I weight 128lb at approximately 18% of body fat. I am really interested how much could I burn during a weight lifting session. Mu heart rate is bit elevated, I do 5 sets of 10 reps and it is hard to finish them. I rest about 1 minute between sets even excercises. I do as much as I can during 1 hour. Can I estimate some way how much do I burn during workouts. Any suggestions?

It depends on your duration, intensity, and rest periods. But if you're looking to burn more calories than build muscle focus more on cardio

No, that's wrong. It's diet first, lifting second. Cario is just icing and not needed at all.

OP, you can expect to burn anywhere between 200 and 400 cals in an hour. Don't worry about those numbers though. Have your diet in check and track your progress with your results over a 4-6 week period. Make adjustments based on your results.

I know that it's not important, but if I want to gain some muscle I should eat slightly more calories and if I burn some during the training I wanted to make sure I wil get the in again in the right amount of the previously burned so even if my total workout is 60 minutes and that includes the rest, I should count with 60 of for example moderate weight lifting and not 60 minutes - rest periods?

Honestly, trying to micromanage cals like this is a nightmare. Keep it simple (KISS). Pick and cal level and compare your results after several weeks. Adjust as necessary. There are way too many factors involved in calorie expenditure to know each day just how much to eat.

well i heard that its getting quite inaccurate when you use heartrate monitor for weight-liffting calories counting, that it applies correctly only on doing cardio ang whatever countinuous. is it true? or the calories burned depend only on my heart rate?
