    Calorie Surplus

If you ate a 500 calorie surplus in clean foods and a 500 calorie surplus in dirty foods (fast foods, processed foods) both diets getting enough protein per lbs body weight would you gain the same amount of muscle/fat?

If the macronutrients were the same, then yes.

But in 20 years, you might regret eating heavily processed foods.

    ^ This.

For whatever reason, most people think just because they eat "clean" they will gain less fat and more muscle than if they eat "dirtier". When in all actuality it comes down to calories in vs. calories out (provided you hit your minimum daily essential macros). Although just because a calorie is a calorie, the "cleaner" foods usually tend to have higher quality macronutrients, as well as the benefits of more vitamins, minerals, etc.
