I have run into what seems to be a wall with my grip while deadlifting. The issue is not so much that I can't lift the weight, but I can't continue working through my lifts because my grip slips.
I have tried using gloves, but that actually makes the issue worse. Any recommendations?

like others said, chalk
don't go apesh-t with it though, rub some on your hands, rub them together, and basically brush off the excess. Then get to some DL PR's.
the "Captains of Crush" grippers are serious sh-t also.Misc Strength Crew

See my signature for professional opinion of using gloves.
Also, use chalk, hold the last rep of your heaviest Deadlift set, and do double overhand fat bar holds for time.Eternal Gym Rat, Student Physical Therapist. None of my post content should be taken as medical advice. Ask your doctor/PT.

I think you should avoid gloves completely, and although using chalk can help, its obviously not the answer you're looking for.
I think the COC (captains of krush) grippers is a good idea that can help. For a cheaper more immediate solution you could practice squeezing a tennis ball (that might help slightly).
-Stick 4x or 5x 5lb plates together and pinch it / hold it with their hands for a period of time
-Some guys can do this with 10lb or bigger plates (some guys can maybe do it with 25lb plates)
Some guys use PVC or something else to make the bar thicker--this helps strengthen the grip. Some gyms have fat bars--that works too (bars much thicker than the standard ones to help with grip strength).
You could practice dead hangs (like 1-2 minutes just hanging from a pullup bar)
If you google forearm strength / grip strength, there's all sorts of crazy things you can do to build that strength. I saw one video of a guy that had these thick metal boxes which he could barely pinch, and they weighed about 40-50lbs. He would actually flip the boxes back and forth (it looked incredibly difficult).
Some guys really go ballistic with grip strength...
I used to wrestle in high school and college, and I think grip strength was one of those important but underrated things I should have worked on more. Anyway, maybe those ideas will help point you in the right direction so that your grip will no longer be a limiting factor.

I guarantee this dude will be able to hold on to anything he can lift if he just uses chalk. Grip is not holding back someone's deadlift when they legitimately considered gloves as an option without considering chalk.
Koyongi: I am going to accomplish this by following a haphazard training system, and forging elite fitness.

Good point though--if he's going for gloves before chalk that does say something might be wrong.
However, some guys that neglect grip strength for many years sometimes run into problems on the deadlift. If you're doing a double-overhand grip, and really doing things raw, once you get into the big weights, the grip can definitely become a limiting factor. Also, if you're powerlifting for a sport or anything related to strongman type stuff, I think a little grip work definitely wont hurt...

when I came to college, all the bars here were shiitty and smoothed out from being used so much, I had to use chalk for the first time, bought a pound off bbing.com for like $7
shit was fuckin amazing, before not being able to hold on to 315x5 with a mixed grip, sweaty hands and a baby's ass smooth bar, slapped on some chalk, was back to lifting upper 300s

A simple fix is how you are gripping the bar. Try this next time.
Stand up with the bar in your hands like normal. Now just slightly curl your wrists in towards your legs. Not alot, just a little bit, instead of just letting your hands hang there. You should find this a bit more stable. You will be holding the bar more in your hand then with your fingers if that makes sense.
Also it doesnt hurt to work on a hook grip. It used nothing but a hook grip for about 6 months and when I converted back to a normal grip it was much stronger."To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda
