Best use of Smith machie

I never liked smith machines but, i got this one dirt cheap and decided to make something i want. I took the high pulley off and mounted to the corner of my power rack. Not ideal but limited space dictates what i can have.

What do you guys think?

not true! i use the one i got for free with my atlas stones (stone over bar for reps). but probably not what the maker intended.

I have considered this troubling issue at length and have come to the conclusion that although smith machines free up proper equipment (by distracting the naive towel barred quarter squatters and bicep pumpers). It would be better if proper equipment (which is less expensive) were to take the place of inferior equipment. Thereby solving the issue of the smith machine.

Usually even taller guys can do it, you just might need to start from the kneeling and keep the legs bent.

I don't know why people hate on the smith machine. Obviously you aren't going to train your main lifts on them but I like them for higher rep assistance work. Haven't actually had access to one in a long time though so I don't really have to think about it.
