Hey guys,
I've trolled around here for a while, gotte some tips on exercises and workouts, and now it's my first post.
I've started making protein shakes in the morning for breakfast, which consists of 8oz of skim milk, a few ounces of water, 1 double scoop of whey protein and a little bit of instant coffee to ad some flavor. I've noticed that by lunch time i'm intensely hungry. A hunger like I never was getting before. I'll eat my lunch, most of the time it's a good size turkey or chicken sandwhich, and i'll be good for a little bit, but then feel hungry again shortly later. I feel like since i've started taking the protein shakes i'm hungry all the time. What would be causing me to be always hungry? Is there something I should be combining with the shake to curb hunger through the day?
Thanks,
matt

Protein shakes obviously do not make you hungrier, they should be curbing your hunger a bit. It seems pretty obvious though that if you're only drinking a protein shake in the morning that of course you'll be hungry by lunch time... if not your metabolism is pretty slow. What you might be experiencing is that if you were previously not used to eating in the morning then you weren't jump starting your system. By drinking your shake you're getting your body going right away and thus your body will want more fuel. This is a good sign, it's showing that your metabolism is getting faster.
Fat burners often try to suppress appetite. Spirodex seems to be getting good reviews in this regard.
If you want a food alternative to make you less hungry then obviously eating/drinking more will make you less hungry. Alternatively adding fiber to your shake will help quite a bit most likely.Latest Reviews:

Protein is proven to be the best suppressor of ghrelin over the all the macros so if you're hungry after consuming protein then you need to include more food. Besides a shake alone is how many cals? How many hours are you going before your next meal? If you aren't keeping a min of 100cal/h ratio then for sure you're going to be starving in a couple hours. My $0.02 is worth $0.03
