I just tried a sample of Lipotropic chocolate today and the taste and mixability were outstanding. LG recently (in the last six months or so) reformulated their protein and it is hugely improved over the previous version. I can't speak for Dymatize, but I've been looking at that as well as it meets my price point.

Yes, I'm a rep, but for what it's worth, I had been buying 2 tubs of Dymatize Gourmet every two months for a good price. It's tasty, and I prefer blends. When Lipo came out initially, I tried it, and choked my way through a tub, hating every minute. I tried it after the reformulation, and I love it. Does it taste better than dymatize? No, but it's as good, if different. I do think it's a better protein profile, with more per serving, and given the great taste, I'll be sticking with it.

I see it as 31.99
Both great prices, you see nothing but great reviews on flavors for both proteins, so it comes down to profiles imo which LG's is pretty top notch, and a little unique.
I can't comment myself on dym's flavor, but I love the chocolate and vanilla I have from LG.**MISC STRENGTH CREW**

Wow... if anyone thinks gourmet tastes good you seriously have never tried much protein... that stuff is as close to the bottom of the barrel taste wise as it gets. Every flavor I've tried is quite bad, but granted I am spoiled by having tried hundreds of proteins.

hows the isolate taste? I just picked up a 2lber of chocolate but i have a few servings of ON left before I open it.
Taste is a subjective matter anyways, everyone has their own opinion.
Seems like LG has a great price for their product and the same with Dymatize Gourmet. Looks like it mostly comes down to where u can get a better deal and which flavor for personal preference. There was just a thread on a great debate over Myofusion Bananna flavorMisc. Firearm Crew

Let's do some quick math:
5lbs vanilla Lipo = 69 servings x 26gr protein per serving = 1794gr protein per tub
32.99 / 1794 is $.018 per gram, or $.45 per 25gr
5lbs vanilla Elite Gourmet = 73 servings x 21gr protein per serving = 1533gr protein per tub
31.99 / 1533 is $.021 per gram, or $.52 per 25gr
Your extra $1 gets you an additional 261gr protein, or around 1/2lb.
Now, I'm not dissing Dymatize. I've used a whole lot of it, around 15 five lb tubs, maybe more. It's good. But so is Lipo, and I like lipo's protein sources better.

It was at the same place everyone recently got SPMax from. Haven't seen it that low for a few months but they tend to have their stupidity sales in cycles.
Speaking of that, I actually got my lipotropic from them as well for $13.50 (yes, the 5lb tub). I think I'd say lipotropic tasted better than gourmet, didn't have the same flavor in both though (choc lipo and multiple non-choc gourmet flavors). I personally didn't care for it still but it's drinkable for sure.Last edited by shadar; 10-29-2010 at 08:40 AM.

Online. The stores have piss poor selection but occasionally can find good clearance deals. The website has decent selection and tons of flaws which can be used to your advantage during certain sales.
I don't understand why people are so cheap about their protein though. It's already the cheapest protein source you're taking in most likely... I personally save money elsewhere and enjoy my shakes for the whole dime or so more it costs me to enjoy it. I mean with hugeness XF is only $34 or whatever a tub and Myo often goes down to $30 (as it is right now some places) or even into the mid 20's. Good tasting quality protein doesn't cost much money at all. Even when they aren't on sale it's only like a dime more per shake.Latest Reviews:
