Cain will outstrike and outwrestle Brock. I am almost 100% sure he will take Lesnar down at some point, I wouldn't be surprised if it will be more than once. Cain Velásquez is better at every facet of MMA, including wrestling.
I'll bump this thread after it happens and shove it in the face of all the idiots who actually think Lesnar is going to dominate Cain.

agreed that Cain has more skill all around. But Brock will pin Cain against the cage. Remember that Brock has trained with the master of Cage 'N Pound, Randy Couture. I think we are going to see a varied fight with action in striking, G n P and cage work.
Cain has better cardio, but multiple rounds of Brock leaning on Cain against the cage will test Cain's cardio (more than it has yet been tested).
I think that Brock will score more takedowns, have lots more "control" points (for pinning Cain against the cage or on the ground). Cain will have more striking points. But I predict Brock by UD.

No way is Cain better all around.
They are about even on striking regardless of what the moronic brock haters out there say. Cardio is about even. Brock has much better wrestling, top control, and very good transitions on the ground. His BJJ has progressed amazingly and I would not be surprised if he subbed Cain who constantly leaves himself wide open on the ground.
I do agree that Brock will probably do some wall and stall and tire out Cain some while kneeing his legs and getting some punches in that is if he fails on the first takedown.

Yeah, keep believing Cain is going to beat Brock. We've heard this same song and dance before from the hype masters. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a UFC hater at all, but if you all knew Brock was really going to do to an undersized Cain, you wouldn't be making 15 threads on every forum about it every day and hyping up the fight for them, would you? So the commercials and the Primetime episodes are doing their jobs well. Personally, I think he's a flash in the pan. The notion that Cain will outwrestle him is laughable. Literally funny. It's already a given that Brock will win that part. I'm even going to go so far as to say that Brock will look ok against Cain on his feet, too. The only real question is will Brock get a finish. If this thing goes 5 rounds, how will all of that muscle on Brock serve him in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th rounds if it goes there. If Cain has any shot at all (it's pretty damn slim imo) then it's to capitalize on the championship rounds. Much has been made of Cain's cardio. Of course Brock is a wrestler too so it's likely that his gas tank is also very good.
We will see tomorrow.
I'm picking Brock via decision, but I guess we could see a finish, too. Cain's chin is suspect as it can get.

Definitely
Carwin posed a much bigger threat. Cain was getting tagged in every single round by Kongo who is a better striker but doesnt have the power that Lesnar has. One punch from Lesnar and he could possibly break Cains orbital like he did to herring. Cain does have a chance albeit a small one if he can defend the takedowns and fight like Bisping.

Cain's main weakness in the Kongo fight was his chin was up and he didn't move his head much and Kongo kept catching him getting over aggressive. I think Cain fixed that in the Nog fight and he was moving a lot better and putting on better combos.
But Cain has been dropped before and once Brock drops you he will bum rush you fast and try to hammer fist you to get a ref stoppage.
Brock will be the first to admit he is not a technical guy or as skilled as other guys and his size is his biggest advantage, and size will be the key factor in this fight. Two good wrestlers, both explosive, but the bigger one will have the advantage in my eyes.
If Cain wants to win he has to use a Frankie Edgar in and out style and mix it up to confuse Brock, throw a combo and get a take down, or fake a shot and throw some combos.
It's a pickem fight to me.

I just don't see how Cain beats Lesnar. The UFC hype machine is doing a good job however getting people to believe that he can. But it isn't going to happen. We've already seen Brock being able to weather a storm of ungodly punching power. While Cain might be technically better than Shane, no way does he have the same power. And anyone who believes Cain is going to be able to outwrestle Lesnar needs to dive into an unfilled swimming pool. Brock is just way too big. Brock is going to take the fight to the ground. Ground and pound onto Cain's suspect chin. Brock will then retain the belt as he wins by TKO in the first round. And I say all this as a non-fan of Lesnar.

i keep looking at this fight to go similar to the couture/carwin first rounds fight.... only thing that cain will be better overall... im sure brock is the best wrestler in his camp... so he wont be getting much better at that..ofcourse lesnar still has that sick top game and power behind those awkward looking punches...cain is just gonna have to out fight him to win this... also i hope cains camp did something about handling being on the bottom... getting sick of all these fighters wilting once brock is on top.

Actually Brock trains with Kole Conrad. 2 time NCAA D1 Champ, and Bellator HW champ, same size as Lesnar. His wrestling skills aren't going anywhere that's for sure. If anything, I'm sure Cole tests his wrestling. Whereas Cain has no one to prepare him for that level of wrestling anywhere near their size.
There is no way for Cain to prepare for someone that big with that kind of top control on top of him.

Brock was never hit flush by Carwin. You guys are acting like Brock went toe to toe like Chris Leben did with Akiyama or Scott Smith taking hard shots and coming back.
I still give the chin advantage to Brock but we still haven't seen his chin tested, Cain has good recover he had his chin tested got dropped but recovered well.

Lesnar learned a lot in the last fight. He is much stronger physically than he was against Carwin (post-illness) and has improved his standup and over-all ability. I am not saying Lesnar will definately win, but he is much more of a threat than Kongo was against Cain - as an example and Kongo and Gonzaga just stood toe-to-toe.
