But if you lift the same weight for all exercises, this would imply you're consistently equally strong on every exercise and progress at the same rate for all.
Why don't you just write out your program and we'll figure out what you're doing.. Obviously we can't figure out what you're doing from your explanation.

i think what we're trying to clarify is whether you are using the same amount of weight for all of your muscle groups (for example, 10 kg dumbbell curl, 10 kg leg press, 10 kg squat)
or
the same weight for every exercise session that you do (week 1, 10 kg dumbbell curl and 20 kg leg press, week 2, 10 kg dumbbell curl and 20 kg leg press, week 3, 10 kg dumbbell curl and 20 kg leg press)
in the first case, all of your muscles are different strengths, so i wouldn't recommend this. your legs are much more powerful than your arms, mainly because you don't walk around on your arms all day. each of your muscle groups are unique, and you shouldn't necessarily try to train them all in exactly the same way.
in the second case, if you never try to increase the weight or push your limits, you'll never make any progress, and you're essentially just waving your muscles around. there's nothing wrong with this, but you'll get the same benefit just from taking a good 30-60 minute walk every day, only without the gym membership fees.

because OP is probably getting frustrated by not getting a simple answer to her question...to her the way she worded it probably makes total sense (making us stupid for not understanding)...to the rest of us, we are still trying to decipher what exactly she is asking (making our answers less than specific)
soooooooooo...lets do this...OP, please post your routine (or atleast 1 day of your routine) including the weight you use, and we will try our best to suply you with the answers you seek...until that happens, we are kinda at a stand still in this thread. This message has been approved by ThisNameIsTaken
