Safe rate of weight gain under bulking.

This might be different for everyone but what would you consider a safe rate of weight gain while bulking? Like right now I've gained ~3.5 lbs per day for 3 days starting from 160 lbs.

Obviously most of it from is eating and a portion from lifting but should I try to keep it around this rate or should I go less (or up?)

Ya its probably water weight. I went straight from a cut to a bulk(probably a bad idea) and I gained like 8 pounds in a week. Since then I've gained 6 pounds in 2 months

i'm pretty sure its a physical impossibility to add that much weight in that short a time, whether it be fat or muscle. I'm betting it's water weight

anyway a safe rate of weight gain is about .5 - 1lb a week

He is right. However, I gained 20 lbs in a week from water bloat after I started gorging large amounts of food, but that was after a huge depletion diet right before a competition.

If you have not been depleted to a serious degree, I see that hard to believe

When I started bulking, the first few pounds came on quickly. But it's been slow and steady since then. Probably anywhere from .5 to 1 lb. per week.

Find your balance. . . How much of a gut are you willing to put up with, how much protein are you willing to in intake considering the consequences (extreme excess is taxing on your lilver, kidneys and can cause dehydration, improper calcium and electrolyte levels, etc.)

Sounds to me some of your gain is both food in your belly and water gain. I personally have gained as much as 4 lbs. of weight within a weeks time, considering the initial extra water and food in my system, stomach stretching etc. from the first couple of weeks.

    Good luck on your gain.
