Lifting weights is actually not the bodybuilder's sport; it's the powerlifter's sport. A bodybuilder lifts weights to build an aesthetically-pleasing physique, but this no more makes of him a powerlifter than a dash to the bus stop makes some random guy a competitive sprinter.

That said, the "sport" in bodybuilding is presentation of the physique. Bodybuilding is more akin to a baking contest than it is a sport like, say, soccer or basketball; the contestants show up and are placed on display for evaluation. The bodybuilders' lifts aren't evaluated at this time but rather their physiques.

I don't think its a coincidence. I remember the training in gymnastics. It was fukin grueling, a lot more painful than anything i have done in the gym (srs). It was torture at times. To this day despite my unfavorable lifestyle, I still basially look like the gymnasts above when fully pumped and flexed. I am 5 foot 10 too so im not an extreme manlet or anything.

Gymnasts are more impressive than bodybuilders, just out of the crazy things they can do. Ronnie Coleman looks like a freak. He can't move his own body weight around normally, let alone have total body control like a gymnast.

    they don't train legs brah...

And they wouldn't be good at lifting weights initially, they'd get very good though. It's just because lifting weights isn't what they've trained at. For example try a lift you've never done that's closely related to what you're good at, for example if you've never done dips and you're good at bench, they'll have to make the same transition.

Gymnasts aren't going to be able to deadlift a lot, but I know a guy who trained gymnastics, he's now benching 335 @ 150lbs. No leg strength, but very strong bench.

They could build a decent squat in know time, my friend is a gymnast and his legs aren't out of proportion at all
with all their core strength and bouncing around I'm sure they'd have a decent squat
