I've seen two which are somewhat scary, Strangers and Paranormal Activity.
Also REC was kinda good.
Anyone got any more to go after? I want a collection of these.
I know there are LOADS which are produced and many don't even get into cinemas, but I don't want a list of them. I want ones that are genuinely good.
No old ones (I don't care for B&W 'greats' I want modern ones), also suspense is always better than jumpiness.

The Final Destination films. The entire theater jumped out of their seats with popcorn flying during the first one. You know, the bus scene.
Oh and paranormal activity sucked almost as hard as the Blair Witch project.*Stopped smoking crew* 2 years and 5 month bishes, and counting.*

The best horror movies are the ones that don't need blood and gore to instill fear into the audience.
Jeepers Creepers, The Strangers...those are some good ones. (the part where the guy just appears in the living room behind Liv Tyler - FUUUUUUUU)
Signs wasn't necessarily scary, more intriguing and made you think. That alien scene you guys mentioned is foken awesome though.I do because I can;
I can because I want to;
I want to because you said I couldn't.

The Original, "Last House on The Left" was a disturbing flick. You keep asking yourself, "What the hell must be going on in Wes Craven's head to make this kind of film"...but seriously creepy. Also the Original Halloween. Abiding by the principal that "less is more", Halloween mind screws you until you can't take it anymore. Great lines, great soundtrack, and great cinematography. And goes the Hitchcock route of scare-something thats been lacking from horror films over the last 20 years or so. Showing you enough, but letting your mind assume the rest...which is scarier then anything. A psychological thriller.

Reps, good film! Makes me claustrophobic just thinking about it! It's in my Top 5.
Reps, Inside is definitely a mindfuk of a movie! It's also in my Top 5.
I'd have to vote for Martyrs as the most disturbing movie I've seen in the past 10 years! You could define it as "scary" because in reality people have and ARE capable of doing horrific things to each other just as is depicted in this film.
