    Hard Time Losing Fat

    Hi Ladies,

I have gained about 10 lbs after my wedding this past June and I am having a reeeeally hard time getting rid of it. I had dieted really hard for about a month before my wedding, sticking to mostly protein, fats and fruits and veggies. The diet/training plan was written for me, so I wasn't positive of how many calories I was eating, but I know it was very low. My weight had remained practically the same up until the wedding (~130 lbs.), but I was visibly much slimmer and my clothes fit better, but still had a nice amount of muscle. Frankly, I have been eating a low amount of calories for a long time, but I usually keep them at about 1500. After the wedding, I wanted to give myself a break with dieting but I think I rebounded poorly. I put on 10 lbs almost immediately. These 10 lbs definitely show on my body. I can't wear ANY of my old pants that I've been wearing for the last few years. I also discontinued Nuvaring around this time because I was moving to England, so I don't know if that has had a factor in my weight gain.

I've been monitoring my calories for a few months now. I leveled off at about 1700 for a while....no change....so 1600...no change....1500...1400...and here I am now at 1400. Not feeling any changes. Clothes not fitting any better. I calculated my total calorie expenditure and I'm coming up with about 2300 (which is why I started dieting closer to 1700 cals/day). Do you think that I might see some fat loss if I up my calories? I feel like even at these low amounts of calories I've been building muscle. My biceps are becoming thicker and firmer (which I really really like!) but it seems odd since I've been eating so low cal. I am just beginning to feel very frustrated and would like some advice. Should I stick to around 1400-1500 till I lose

I'm 5'4 and currently 140 pounds. I'm much happier at around 125-130. I weight train (as heavy as possible) 4 times a week. I do cardio twice a week for 30-45 minutes, and lately I've been doing 20-30 minutes of light cardio after my training. I want to keep my cardio up because I MIGHT be going to Army OCS sometime in the near future.

Thanks in advance! I'm just feeling so lost at the moment!

I'm just asking in case it's a possibility but are you, maybe, pregnant?

You should totally be losing 1lb-2lbs a week. Are you tracking everything? Log every mouthfull. That is crazy if you are not losing something eating that low.

haha ok. Had to ask. I agree with above! Have you been weighing and measuring all of your food? Have you tracked everything? It does seem odd the weight wouldn't be budging.

My experience has been that when I train too hard and eat too little for what I'm doing my weight either stays the same or goes up...I know how this sounds but this is my experience...
I recently lost 5lbs after upping my cals to 2200, and since I'm not really out to lose weight have further upped them (but am still getting leaner). I don't know op if this is the case with you but our training is simular in that I also train 4 days with HEAVY weights and run 2times a week ...so you never know...good luck to you though I hope you get it figured out.
