i think it doesnt really matter. going light during the last week wont help you much because most people dont squat/bench 50% the same way they squat/bench 100%+.

I'm hoping to pull the same as I squat. I pulled 455 a 4-5 weeks or so ago to see where I was at. It went up easy.
Let's say I squat-
455/505/535
And Bench-
315/335/350
Then I would only need
455/500/515
To hit 1400 @ my first meet, which would make me feel pretty good I guess. But let's say I missed the 3rd bench, then I'm probably trying 530.
I've pulled 500 before. Fairly easy, but I have crappy form. :/
Basically I have no clue, that's the real answer.

Thanks man. I needed that right
now. I just pulled up and I'm sitting in the parking lot right now.
Got here early on purpose bc my sense of direction is awful. I wanted to leave the house by 4, so i got to sleep before 9 actually, (google said 2:52 drive and weigh ins are 7-8). So it's about time for some stimulants to wake me up.
I should be good to go.

Quick update. I just finished my squats. They misloaded my opener... By a whole lot. I don't know how much it was but it was a whole lot heavier than anything I've ever squatted. I think it was 555. I missed it lol.
I still haven't gotten my bearings back honestly. I did my 2nd opener @ 455. Then 485, then 500. I smoked 500, which is good I guess, but I wanted to go 455/500/PR.
Oh well. My low back is a little sore so I'm gonna take some Advil...

what the fuuk...oh well sh!t happens at least its not your mistake. 500 is awesome man and when you say you smoked it im pretty sure you could have jumped up with it.

Might not be. You said your lower back was bothering you. It could be coming from that.
Congrats on the 500. Don’t get too caught up in you could’ve gotten a lot more, or it shoulda been your opener. Your original goal for the meet was 500, mission accomplished, so don’t forget that. And since this is your first meet, 500 is a PR.Crom Laughs....
So, how long are you gonna keep powerlifting?
