Lift everyday or every other day?

So all throughout my life i've heard to lift every other day so I can let my muscles rest and rebuild them on the day off. Now i've been hearing from friends that it's more effective to build muscle by lifting everyday. Any opinions are helpful, thanks.

Muscles grow while they are resting, they do not grow while they are working.

I found lifting 2 days on, 1 day off, twice for the week works pretty well. If u had to choose, definitely take a day off in between workouts.

The only guys i've seen make serious progress with 5 days a week are real genetic monsters, and those are far and few between.

Don't forget the ones on gear.

Sure, a regular guy natural lifter can use a 5 day split. But chances are (like...99.9% IMO) that if you have to ask this question then 5+ days a week isn't for you. At least not a this point.

Who has the time to lift everyday? Also your muscles need rest in order to grow.

Yes you should always give your muscles rest in between your workouts. And it's pretty tough to get time to workout everyday. So yes it's always better to keep one day workout then one day rest.
