    Paleo whey isolate. Wow.

A whey-isolate based meal replacement powder for the paleo-dieters. Amazing!

    http://primalblueprint.com/products/Primal-Fuel.html

Apparently it’s made from special paleo-friendly dairy from Paleolithic cattle using primitive Paleolithic era ion-exchange chromatographic methods. And it’s of course naturally-sweetened with sucrose.

The guy selling this stuff is an absolute genius, or has tremendously huge gnards. All for about a c-note per 30 servings. Unless, of course you opt for the autoship option (just like the Girls Gone Wild videos, not that I’d know anything about that), then it’s dirt cheap at $79 bucks for 30 servings.

I bet the guy could sell rat-meat to vegans.

Dammit, why wasn’t I born with grapefruit sized gnards?!

Sad, the Paleo diet is the stupidest and most unbelievable lie out there. I can't believe so many people follow it like a cult.

Glad to see that Guar Gum and Maltodextrin are now considered Paleo.

Acevedo85 -- I agree that eating Paleo can be healthy. After all, lots of veggies and meats, et cetera. However, there have been more than 30,000 known genetic changes in humans since the Paleolithic era. Including genes that help humans digest grains, and genes that allow humans to digest dairy. So the entire premise -- that eating paleo is "the best" for humans because "that's what we evolved to eat" is based on scientific misinformation. We humans have evolved to eat grains and dairy in the last 10,000-40,000 years.

We weren't meant to take medicine, does that mean that we shouldn't ever use medicine?

Also, it's hilarious how expensive it is for such a poor nutrition profile (compared to other whey).

Yeah, but the paleo period ended nearly 10,000 years prior to him. I'm not trying to argue with you, I just find the paleo diet to be very gimmicky / cult-like. The idea of not eating **** everyday makes sense (and a good idea), but the paleo diet is based on tons of assumptions and false information. Also, I find its hardcore followers annoying as all hell.

The paleo diet is a good guideline of what to eat for those who are too lazy to actually figure out what is healthy and what isn't. Basically, it is dieting and eating right for dummies (imo). I see nothing wrong with eating paleo + oats, dairy, whey, etc. so long as the food quality is good.

    Yes.

I’d have to imagine the typical paleo-dieter eats pretty healthy, and there may be in fact many well-adjusted people eating that way.

But the whole demonizing of certain types of foods like many of them are prone to do does get a little ridiculous. It tends to often be those who are lactose- or gluten-intolerent (or some who think that they are) or those who are "carb-sensitive" (or again, think themselves to be)that want to apply their personal experience to everybody else.

This! I want throw a rock at their face (you know, like a caveman) when that happens. "I drank a glass of milk / had a bowl of oatmeal and bloated up for days. See, we're not made to eat grains/dairy!" Good for you, I can eat them just fine, and I'll continue to do so, so stfu and let me enjoy my oats/milk/cheese/etc. in peace.

I'm laughing about that. Paleo whey protein? That's odd. Maybe I missed something in the books I've read, but don't remember seeing a milk extract being mentioned as paleo.

I like the paleo diet. I eat paleo/ low carb meals, as it has done wonders for a stomach problem. And I follow and learn from some doctor's blogs that advocate low carb eating, with several of them finding issues for many of their patients with grains in particular. But I wouldn't think of whey as paleo. It would be good for low carb eating though, obviously.

I don't check out paleo sights that often. Saw a new one today though - Robb Wolf.

Guess he is a former power lifting champ and recent author. Saw he has paleo meals for sale. First time I've seen that. I might have to give them a try. And that seems to be the wave of the future as food giant Unilever is studying how to package paleo processed foods at stores. Unbelievable.

I have to agree. I could never go true-paleo and abandon oats. Not even the prospect of hanging out with hot Crossfit women who overhead-press heavy random s%^t would make me forsake the oats.

Mark Sisson says in a recent post that white rice is healthier than brown rice because the bran has been processed out.

That's not the first time I heard such a thing out of a paleo mouth. This other person talking about whole grain bread being more unhealthy than white bread.

I guess when grains are evil poison, the more processed and devoid of its nutrients, the least "poisonous" it seems to some of them who cheat with refined grains once in a while and see it as the "healthy" choice.

Hahaha, yeah, others tell me the same when they learn how I eat.

Wheat eating in particular, but other grains also, look to be another heart disease risk factor. This cardiologist often writes about how much healthier his patients become after avoiding grains. And I have to agree, from testing, my risk factors dropped significantly after avoiding wheat and other grains.

Something new of interest has been Denise Minger's review of the China Study. If not familiar with the China Study, it is often thought of as the holly grail of information for why the vegan and vegetarian diet is "healthiest". Our former President Clinton has recently been talking about the China Study saying that is why he became a vegan.

Well, Denise went through the findings of Dr Campbell in his China observations and found that his conclusions were wrong. It was not animal fat causing heart disease but most likely wheat.

Dr. Eades has a great write up on the China Study review done by Denise Minger.

There is other info out there, but is it late - hope that helps.

Saw a new one today though - Robb Wolf.

    http://robbwolf.com/about/

Guess he is a former power lifting champ and recent author. Saw he has paleo meals for sale. First time I've seen that. I might have to give them a try. And that seems to be the wave of the future as food giant Unilever is studying how to package paleo processed foods at stores. Unbelievable.

I cringed when I read some of them gush about things like eating butter directly out of the tub. Some of them are obsessed with eating as much fat as they can stomach, as long as its saturated. If it's unsaturated, it's "unhealthy", even though Omega-3 fatty acids, the healthiest fat ever, are unsaturated.

The original concept of paleo is quite nice and I like it although taken to dogmatic extremes it sucks. But the low-carb crowd has taken over paleo so much that being "paleo" or "primal" nowadays is just a cool hardcore way of saying you're on a low-carb diet. Look at "PaNu" to see what I'm talking about...they think fruit makes you fat, carbs make you fat, calories aren't really what makes you fat, the only way you can lose weight is by eating a low-carb, high-fat diet. it's absolute pseudoscience.
