I know that quinoa is good but how about some of these other grains I've seen such as buckwheat groats or amaranth? Do these other grains yield as much protein as brown rice?

quinoa is your best bet as a "rounded food" I also like how quickly it will cook.. (15 mins compared to 40)
You can also try something called black rice, it's a bit harder to find.. but it cooks much quicker and it's also got more fiber/protein.Cutting

White rice, Emperor (Black) rice, Jasmine/Basmati/Wild rice, quinoa, millet, amaranth, spelt, oats, barley, rye, bulgur, buckwheat, polenta.
Quinoa, amaranth and millet are loaded in proteins (complete ones for quinoa and amaranth)
(Btw, quinoa and amaranth are not really grains)'Bodybuilders are mortally afraid of muscle loss while simultaneously being afraid of eating carbs at night which is a key tactic that can enhance lean mass preservation' A.Aragon
