So I currently do a reverse pyramid with weights to reps from 6 to 8 then 10 and 12 but I been told by a few people who look like pros that its better to do it naturally with no weight as the form is most important but looking around it seems you cant gain size without progression. I will admit it feels alot better to do it free for both the pump and mentally knowing its good form but I want to hear what the majority do.

No. Progressive overload is what it's all about. The pump is just an artefact of high rep lifting. You should also have low rep strength development. And form might be important but it is not the be-all and end-all. For example, I have progressed far more on heavy BB rows when doing a little 'cheating' than with strict form.

Those people saying that are tards. You're doing great. Keep bumping the weight up and you'll keep getting that cobra look and a ripped back! Weighted pullups are the true test of strength. There's guys here that can't even do a pullup and consider themselves strong. Keep up the good work brother! Always keep adding weight!

This reminds me of the menshealth forum there was a guy wandering if bodyweight excersizes (pushups, pullups) had as much effect as going to the gym. He was convinced it was the same or close to the same lines as weight lifting
YOu can only get so strong lifting certain weight... and your bodyweight is no different. If I can do 50 pushups, that's well and good, but how will you ever get stronger? By doing 60? 70? no... by doing 20 with someone sitting on your back. Yes.

Thanks guys I think what Ill do is continue with weights and later during workout or end (I start every arms workout with chins and back with pull ups, dips end of chest) will do three sets with 30 second rest to end it with no weight. Nothing beats having a 45 pound plate to do a chin up then go to it naturally and find its so easy like punching air.

It actually sounds like you might be using to much weight. I agree with the guys who say you need to progress, but adding weight at the expense of form is incorrect too. It you are adding so much weight that it compromises the form of the exercise you are worse off than using none. Use as much weight as you can handle for the desired reps in perfect form, no more, and progress that weight as you do can do ore without compromising correct exercise form.
