My mother is a survivor, so don't start with the " You don't care about cancer victims" stuff. NFL players should not be wearing pink shoes and gloves. Paint a bow on the field, put a logo in the upper corner of the TV screen, ask for a donation from every fan in attendance, but the pink accessories reminds more of a fashion show than a pro football game. If they ever make BAMA players wear pink, I am going to become a Monmouth State fan.

in b4 i get flamed for being in the wrong section, but sorry i disagree, i myself bought pink gloves at the beginning of the season because i have multiple aunts who have or have died from breast cancer (family has a horrible struggles with that) anyway i dont think that the players are wearing it just to look cool or fit in i guess. Maybe its just my thought on it but i assume most players have a good heart and want to do it for the right reason, i could be wrong tho. And you never know maybe the NFL donates 10$ to the foundation for every piece of pink they wear, idk im just presenting other reasons
but seriously man watch the game, dont be worried about what the players are wearing

How are the pink gloves/shoes/sweat bands any different than throw-back jerseys games or the rare games when they wear their "Spanish" jerseys (more baseball than football)?
Besides, I love the hot pink.Simp's Back: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=165133671&page=1

After my initial post, I had decided to leave well enough alone but I can't leave this post unanswered. I have sought to be an upstanding forum member in my two years here (I have never trolled) and am bothered by the personal nature some are taking of an opinion. If folks bothered to read past the title of the post they would see that I do know and understand why they are wearing the pink, I support the cause and survivors (my MOM IS ONE). I am all for awareness, and hope they will also have a prostate awareness week sometime. If my post was read, you would also see that I offered legitimate alternate suggestions as to how the NFL could make their awareness known. If they really want to make a difference, let them take the gate receipts from one day and donate them to the cause.
I am sorry my personal opinion of the clash of pink against the Redskin red and gold upset folks. I am done.David, a 56 year old pastor, husband and father.

If you know that your opinion is going to receive back lash than why make a thread about it???? Why not keep it to yourself. I don't understand why members feel it is necessary to make comments during times when it is inappropriate to do so, just like Sept. 11 or October since it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The NFL gives millions of donations to sponsor several worthy causes including Breast Cancer Awareness Organizations and USA Football which is a huge Youth Organization. I feel that what they are doing is honorable and should be applauded. If you do not like it don't watch football the month of October. And REAL MEN WEAR PINK!!!!

Dont know what to make of this thread. I thought it was cool that they took the time to show awareness regardless of how it clashes with the uniforms or anything else. Seems like there isn't enough to talk about today on the forum so lets bring something like this up to arouse the natives.......
No reason why folks cant show some respect during theses times when there needs to be more awareness.Eric

Sorry this thread makes no sense! A fashion show? Come on let's get real and put opinions aside for something like this. There are folks who are trying to raise money and awareness for many other diseases and problems also and I think it's great that a well known organization such as the NFL is stepping up.

They also sell a lot of the game worn gear with all of the proceeds going to breast cancer funds. Collectors will buy the stuff and help the cause at the same time.

In Australia - our NRL Rugby league teams wear something pink in some rounds for cancer from teams even wearing full pink kit, jeresy, shorts, socks, etc etc...I think its good for showing support...wearing pink boots and gloves..who cares its for a good cause...

All the pink they wear is one of the best things the NFL does. Everyone on my semi-pro team wore pink for our first playoff game yesterday and will continue to do so through the championship in two weeks. I also had all my youth players put a pink ribbon on the back of their helmets.

My son's team wears pink wrist sweat bands the entire month of October and the League has A pink ribbon patch they had sewn on this season. We had a mom that passed away during the off season and two moms that are battling breast cancer at the moment. The boys actually went to the coaches and we approved it as a modification for this years uniforms.
