Some more pictures of the preserved bodies. It's kind of fascinating how they're frozen in time like that.

Base Camp probably. At 17,000 feet it's higher than anything in the rockies.
Alpine Ascents has a Everest hike you can do I think.
Also, I remembered a story I read in Ed Viesturs book. He's guiding a group up Mt. Rainier, and some guy walks by them going up by himself. Ed warns him about something, and the guy replies "Oh, it's only Mt. Rainier," and up he went. He died.

I think the real concern here is Yeti. Are the Sherpas experienced in dealing with them/it?
This i bet over 75% of those deaths are at the hands of the Yeti

how come we can't just fly helicopters there and rescue people? Pussy ass airforce afraid of high altitude?
Pretty sure there isn't a helicopter in existence that can even produce lift at that altitude, much less hover out of ground effect, much less take on more weight in the form of bodies once it's up there.
Hovering out of ground effect is a challenge for a Blackhawk at 10k. And that's a really powerful helicopter. Just look at the video of the USAF Pave Hawk crashing on Mt. Hood. It did what's called "settling with power," meaning that the pilots were pulling the guts out of it, but it just stopped producing enough lift to remain aloft, and crashed.

Annapurna is now a days considered by statistician as the most dangerous 8000-meter peak with an expedition fatality rate of 40.8%. Of the 142 people who have attempted to summit Annapurna 58 have died.
Yet K2 is still the most dangerous for others as its fatality rate remains constant, whereas Annapurna's and Nanga Parbat's (Nanga Parbat claimed 31 lives before it was conquered by Austrian Herman Buhl in 1953 and more than 100 deaths already) are skewed due to the high number of deaths early on.
Everest has a 7.3% fatality rate with 192 climbers dead out of 2,561, K2 with 24.5% fatality rate with 66 dead out of 269 climbers.

the documentary on youtube said the head wind changed didnt mention anything about producing lift
