    How long until carbs turn into fat?!?!?!?

    Yea, so I'm a noob trying to go from 230 - 200 lbs @ 6'4 (bf?). I'm not counting calories all the time, but am eating a lot less calories, lift heavy and eat about maybe 200 g of protein a day?

    I like to eat a big dinner so i try to eat around 600 - 900 calories during the day so i can have a satisfying dinner.

    So the problem I'm having is that I don't have enough calories in my system for energy for when i go workout(around 3:00pm) and tire easily. Ive read that if you eat carbs before hand your workout, they'll be used as fuel for workout(energy).

    I also heard they if you don't use them, they'll turn into fat.

    So, does anyone know about how long carbs stay in your system without turning into fat and can be used as energy?

    BTW, i dont use pre'work out drinks and dont want to.

    i dont think the issue you have is how long before the carbs turn into fat (ftr any cals not burned off will eventually turn to fat) but for how long will the carbs you are eating will supply you with energy. Personally, I find it best to get some complex carbs (ex. oatmeal) about 45 minutes before I workout.

    First of all, carbohydrates will first be stored as glycogen(stored energy that your body will use after your body has used up all the carbohydrates it has taken). Once there isn't enough space for those carbohydrates it will be stored as fat usually around 2 and a half to 3 hours.

    De novo lipogenesis [turning into fat] is not a significant pathway for the disposal of carboydrates under typical dietary conditions.

    Well he said 6 eggs in the morning is too much protein, so...Uhh...Yeah.

    You can add "eating 6 eggs in the morning" to the list of things that will surely make you fat. "Carbs after 6 pm," "no cardio training," and "saturated fats" were sure getting lonely on that list all alone.
