Forcing down extra water isn't going to get rid of more toxins and trying to stick to some magic amount of water like one gallon is only going to make you pee more. Here are a couple of web pages you may find enlightening:

Staying hydrated is important. Drinking a gallon of water a day is going past the "staying hydrated" priority and moves on to a secondary goal, called "Pissing my kidneys off for no reason". Drink when you're thirsty.
I love beer too much.

IMO, drink water every meal to help metabolize your foods more efficiently and providing your body with as much of the nutrients possible. Also, while working out I would recommend to drink about 16oz = 1 bottle of water at least. Don't wait until your thirsty....by that time you'll be pretty damn dehydrated. Just make it a habit... like whenever people get a meal at McDonald's...they need their Coke. In this case, you want your water.

LOL at these posts. I have found that in the past 3 years that I have been getting 1 gallon / day or more, my blood values have gotten better each time (4 total). Cholesterol went from 244 to 220 to 200 to currently 177. LDL has improved each time as well. The only down fall imo, is having to pee 3 or more times while trying to sleep due to sensitive urethra.
One more thing: if you take creatine, you better hydrate well or look for bloody stool.
